Wine & Dine Host Resorts

I attempted to make a reservations today at a DVC resort (BWV or OKW) for the Wine & Dine 1/2 Marathon. However ALL resorts were booked solid for studios except SSR. I was hoping to stay at a Host resort. I booked SSR and put a wait list for BWV (hopefully I get it). But if I don't, how difficult will it be to get to the start of the race? Do they ever add to the list of Host resorts?

Your situation is exactly where we were last year. Did not get our wait list at either BWV or BCR. However we had friends staying at BWV so we ended up driving over there earlier in the day, meeting them for a light dinner before the race, then just hung out with them at the resort until it was time to leave for the buses.

Getting to the start of the race will be easier than getting home. We were at OKW last year and it wasn't a host resort. If you can get to Epcot, then just take the bus from Epcot to WWOS. Since you have to be at the start before the park closes, there will be buses from every resort going to Epcot. After the race and party, you can get a Taxi back to SSR. We drove to Epcot, so I didn't look for Taxis to see if they were readily available at that time of night, but I'm sure they are aware of the event and will have several waiting to take people back to hotels without buses. If for some reason you can't get a Taxi from Epcot, then I would take the bus back to OKW and have a Taxi called for you from there.
