Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend (Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2024)

Wow, is that it? And those rides are spaced really far apart; they're making sure you get your steps in that day. I'm running the HM so I don't have to pay extra for it, and I've never been to a W&D afterparty before. I'm glad that I didn't buy a ticket for my DW.
There’s also characters available. And according to the blog post about the 2023 party, the festival booths should be open. Plus, you can get in as early as 5, so if you want to see one of the Boyz II Men sets or just have dinner somewhere in Epcot, you’d have plenty of time.

Hoping the tshirts and course maps drop soon. Signed my waiver this morning. Training is going well and I am raring to go.
I wouldn't expect the course maps to drop (via the event guide) for another couple weeks at the earliest. They usually aren't released until a couple of weeks before the races (although the DL Halloween event guide dropped about a month out, which was unusual). The shirts are usually not released until the week of the races. But who knows anymore? Haha.

I think the timelines for maps are out the window. They just sent the marathon course out in a random email!
Yes! The marathon will be starting 30 minutes earlier, 4:30am, but I am surprised they decided to throw the map in with the new start time announcement. I really thought the course change would be Animal Kingdom, but it is actually Magic Kingdom! Runners will be running through all lands in the opposite direction of last year most likely due to the construction behind Big Thunder.

Yep there's a huge discussion already about the course changes over on the MW thread.

I’m a little surprised we’re exiting the same way as usual given the construction on Test Track. When I was there in August that walkway was closed off.

I was expecting a different exit as well due to this but when I saw the January full map the other day and saw the tt exit I was pleasantly surprised

I also see the 10k is the non-studios route which i expected due to the lightning McQueen construction
For some reason I can't get the course maps to open
I clicked out and back about 3 times than they showed up

I didn’t realize they had released the expo guide. I’m really happy with all the courses, especially the 5k and 10k. We’re going under SE for both 5k and 10k, which I love! It’ll be my first race with the longer time in HS, so also excited about that

Where have they released it? I'm not finding a link on their site.

I think the only attraction you have a puncher’s chance of riding during the half is Soarin’? And you’d be a few steps ahead of the balloon ladies

Looks like 10k is has slight changes to the Epcot portion from previous races this year and it's a big change from last year's W&D 10k, which touched in HS briefly instead of doing the . I like this one better, particularly given that you get all of HS in the half.

Last year, tickets sold out a couple of weeks before the party and they ended up going for OVER "sticker" price in some of the FB groups. A lot of people don't "list" them until they have them physically in their hand, so if it's really important to you that everyone goes to the party, I would just buy it off the website now.

Also, I remember seeing a few people on social media got burned with bad sellers that they thought they were getting tickets from before rundisney mailed them out.

I would take the security of buying one directly from runDisney myself. You may be able to find a ticket for slightly cheaper from someone else, but it comes at the risk of being scammed and/or not a valid ticket.
This was good advice! Thank you - I bit the bullet so that mom doesn’t have to be left out and sent the link to my friend so she could decide if she wanted to go with my niece and join us all.

We have a celebratory dinner res and will plan on enjoying the rides and some snacks! Worst case we get tired and leave early. But this could be a one time thing so might as well have the option to do it all.

I'm really excited that we only have to do the path to HS once in the weekend, and the chance for SE pics in both the 5K and 10K--I've never gotten one of those during a race, except in the background of action shots
