My family is going to WDW in June and we are renting a townhouse at the Windsor Palms resort. Does anyone have any helpful tips regarding staying there? We went two years ago and stayed at the Terre Verde and loved it. Hoping for the same experience again. :)
Thanks for any advice

We just returned from a week stay at Windsor Palms and we LOVED it!! The unit we rented was a 3bed 3bath townhouse w/private pool and washer/dryer. It truly was a home away from home. The pool at the clubhouse is fantastic--huge and heated, clean and well-kept. There's also a kids playground area, movie theater, game room, basketball court, tennis courts, and convenience store. You can also rent bicycles.

It is a very family oriented place. Many days there would be a family at the playground that would leave their sand toys there for other kids to play with, same thing at the pool--my kids shared pool toys with other kids all week.

It is also easy to get to shopping, restaurants, and Disney parks from there.

Enjoy! You will love it!

We have stayed at the Windsor Palms in the past and loved it! It was much more peaceful for us than staying on site and we love having the extra space with three kids. It's very convenient to the Disney parks, food, and shopping. We never had any problems with traffic when going to Disney each day. The Windsor Palms has a great clubhouse are and pool. You'll have a great time!

Windsor Palms has a sundry shop, great for little shops. For a full grocery shop, I would recommend either Publix or Supertarget. (From Formosa Gdns Blvd, turn left onto the 192. Drive for about 5 mins and just before the new toll road (overpass) Publix is on the right, Supertarget on the left. I usually avoid the "Marketplace" in the Formosa Gardens Plaza as it is more expensive and not IMHO as good as the other supermarkets.

If you want cheap all you can eat Pizza, try Cici's Pizza which is nearby.

Take the Sherbeth Road entrance into the parks, makes it quicker.

Yay! Thank you so much for your responses and tips. You have all put my mind at ease. I am even more excited now. (If that's even possible!):cool1:

I am confused. I thought Windsor Hills was near Formosa Gdns Blvd and Windsor Palms (same management) was in Celebration? I have family who will be staying in a 3/3 Town home in Windsor Palms and their owner has them going on the other side of 4 (Celebration). They will be arriving on May 5th for a week.

Windsor Palms and Windsor Hills are literally right next to each other.

What I think might be happening is that perhaps your family need to collect a key from the management company and they might have their offices in Celebration.

Some owners allow guests to go directly to the home (they have either a coded lock or a key box with code) some homes have keys that need to be collected at the owner's management company offices.

I am a dip :rotfl: I just googled the address of the actual unit she is going to be renting & yes, it is near Mystic Dunes.. and Windsor Hills.... well I am glad I asked this, I can now tell her that her unit is closer than she thought :thumbsup2

Yes--we made the mistake of going to the first grocery store we saw--"Marketplace" and boy was it expensive!! A watermelon was $12:eek: We paid $125 for less than half a cart full of stuff. We should have taken the time to drive a few more miles to hit the SuperTarget!

Also stay away from Gooding's, they are very expensive too... Go to Publix & Super Target

Hi,
My friends and I have stayed at Windsor Hills a few times and it was wonderful. I'm sure you will enjoy your stay at Windsor Palms. You might want to check out the Sherbeth Road shortcut to the parks.
