We are staying in this unit in October. Does anyone have any specific information on this particular unit? I would love to know.. I"ve been a bit worried after reading some reviews.

Also, does anyone know the schedule for the transportation from Windsor Palms to the TTC or wherever it goes? I don't know anything about it, and can't seem to get any good information.

Thanks in advance!:thanks:

The shuttle service (Maingate Transportation 407-390-0000) is kind of pricey... $10 per person, so paying for parking at $12 is definately cheaper... (This was the pricing in June when we were there)

You need to call and make reservations (so they know to stop). Departures to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Wet n Wild and Orlando Premium Outlets. They also do taxi service.

We stayed in a house, so I don't know about your particular unit. Sorry:rolleyes:

Wow Lisa, I really appreciate that! I had no idea there was a charge for transportation. Duh! I'm glad that we're renting a car. Even with the hassles of parking at Disney it will be better than paying $30 a day for transportation. Or $60! Those prices you quoted might be for one way! Wow... what a racket!

Thanks again and have a great day!
Dee

P.S. Did you have good experieces with other things related to WP?

Hi, absolutely trans is very expensive on the buses and they are notoriously not on schedule. Parking at Disney is really not a hassle. No one moves lots of people better than Disney. If you have kids or even if you don't, the tram ride from the parking lot to the park is always the "first great adventure" especially at Magic Kingdom!

Also remember parking is good for all day and night and at any Park. So you can hop in the car, head home for a mid afternoon nap or swim and head back at night and park.
We helped two friends who work with my spouse at Disney over the winter to rent a condo for 3 months at WPalms. We researched it with them, toured everywhere and it is very very nice. The pool complex is big and fun and the club house is full of stuff to do.
Getting to Disney is very easy. Turn left out of WP onto Formosa Gardens Blvd...take FG to Livingston ( a small but untraveled road about a mile north on Formosa Garden.) If you miss it don't worry just take FG all the way to 192 Take Livingson over to Old Lake Wilson and turn left. Take Old Lake Wilson to 192, turn right and go about 2 miles to big Disney entrance. There are other ways to get there but this is now about as fast as any.
To get home, have some fun and follow the signs to ANIMAL KINGDOM. There will be one or two quick right turns off the main highway in Disney so stay alert. As you approach Animal Kingdom stay LEFT TO ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE. You will come to a stop light...turn left on SHERBERTH ROAD. Follow
Sherberth all the way to 192 and turn right...Formosa Gardens Blvd will be a left turn in about a mile...congrats, now you are a Disney expert driver!!!

Enjoy...Ted

We loved Windsor Palms and would go back! The house we stayed in was so comfortable (especially the beds)... I don't think I have had as good of a night's sleep since!;)

We enjoyed the clubhouse... there is a movie theater that you can choose a movie to be shown on... (they pop fresh popcorn you can buy) ... a little convienience store (pricey but you can walk there and pick up an ice cream treat). The kids liked the video games. We used the internet service there... there were several days the server was very slow but for checking email it worked fine... I think it was $10 for 1 hour of time. My toddler liked the wading pool better than the splash pool at the house however the playground equipment was hot to the touch... probably the time of day we went (in June).:goodvibes

Maingate Transportation run the shuttle service. http://www.maingatetaxi.com/shuttles.htm

Their prices are per person, return. Schedules vary according to time of year. The clubhouse at Windsor Palms should have the latest schedule and prices if you are interested in using the shuttle. You can also pre-book tickets (and they need to be booked at least a day in advance)

Personally I would use a car as you will have one anyway, but the shuttle service is great if you have a larger group with, for example, independent teens who may want to go to Universal whilst the rest of you go to Disney.

I really have to say that the best people in the world are on these boards. I am so impressed by the answers I get. :thumbsup2

Grandpa Ted, typing out those amazing directions for me (both way, I might add..) was just wonderful! I have printed them out and put them in my folder. I will think of you as I become the expert driver you think I can be! :lmao:

And the peace of mind knowing about the amenities and "niceness" of Windsor Palms is incredible. I can't thank you all enough!:grouphug:

I think that for us, the parking at Disney will be the best bet. The next question that I was GOING to ask (but didn't have to because it was already answered!) was if we could park and leave and park again without paying the second time. Boy... that is a PLUS! I know, that with a 4 year old, we will be heading back to the condo for naps, etc... so this benefit is a great one.

I know I've already said it, but THANK YOU!!!:flower3:

Hi! I hope no one minds me jumping in on this thread. We usually stay in timshare, but we're out of points for a trip we wnat to take in late Jan 09. This is our first time considering renting a home/condo. We were looking at some places in Windsor Hills because of some posts we saw here. Is Windsor Palms something different? And are there anyother places you'd recommed I look?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Windsor Palms is a separate subdivision from Windsor Hills. Both had the same builder but they are a mile or so apart. There are lots of other places also.
Any of these: Windsor Hills, Formosa Gardens Estates, Emerald Island, Sunset Lakes, Indian Creek, Windsor Palms, Acadia Estates,Oak Island Cove and Harbour, Rolling Hills. These are all in the same area.
Windsor Hills, Emerald Island and Windsor Palms have community pools and clubhouse amenities. Sunset Lakes does to a lesser extent.

WH, WP and EI all have a manned security gates.

FG, SL, AE have a coded gate. RH, OIC, IC have no gate.
