Windsor hills vs Wyndham bonnet creek?

I am looking for an off-site condo in a resort for late Aug (probably 20-27, dates a bit flexible), 2 teens and 2 adults, with full kitchen. We got a price from Vacation Strategy for WBC for a 2 bedroom for $2100 for the week. I was looking on VRBO and saw a condo rental at Windsor Hills for just over $1100. It was a 3 bedroom, so my two kids could even have their own rooms.

I am trying to figure out what I may be missing - Windsor Hills looks ok, nice pool and slides. I know it's a bit further away but doesn't seem that far. Is there something I am missing that would explain the $1000/wk price difference? I really liked the look of WBC but I am now considering what we could do with that money - like the late night event at both MK and HS for all 4 of us!

I just want to make sure I am not missing anything - is Windsor Hills sketchy, further away than it seems, are there lots of hidden fees or resort fees there?

Thanks!

Windsor Hills is definitely not sketchy. Gated, well kept community. It is really close and there is a back way to get to AK super fast. We've rented houses and townhouses. The townhouses have splash pools, too, in case that interests you over a condo.

We would not hesitate to stay there except that we stay onsite at Disney for other reasons.

(1) Nope! It's great. (2) Very easy. On the way to the parks, I tend to take a left on Westgate Blvd, then Entry Point Rd. across 192. That's the "back way" that pops onto property over by AK/AKL. (3) No resort fees (but it's been a while since I stayed there).

Windsor Hills is like staying at your Uncle's really nice place that happens to be a stone's throw away from Disney World. It's got a residential vibe, with a very well-done common area. We've only done pool homes/townhomes, but those were very private, and tended to be on the quiet side. I bet the condos are similar.

Bonnet Creek is more of a resort. Busier, more energy, more going on, almost a little hectic. Fancier pools.

When my kids were younger, we liked Windsor Hills a lot. Once they got a little older, Bonnet Creek was a better fit for what we wanted. We like both, for sure.

Windsor Hills is not at all sketchy. Very nice pool area, onsite store, grill, little movie theater. My wife and I left for Fantasmic the other night at 8:30p and pulled into the Studios parking lot at 8:46p.

We love Windsor Hills - we've stayed at both condos and pool houses. We like having a place that is away from the parks and quieter, but still feels like "vacation" to us. And the price is great. :)

We stayed at Windsor Hills as well at Bonnet Creek many times. The only problem with Windsor Hills is that they are all individually owned so there can be big differences in decor, furniture, etc. Some of the places are really nice and others are kind of bare bones.

Good info! We will be careful to check reviews etc. Not too picky on decor etc but very picky on cleanliness so I always go for vrbo/airbnb with lots of 5* reviews on cleanliness.

Yeah, this. Make sure if you're booking at Windsor Hills you are reading reviews, etc. There is a **huge** difference in quality between accomodations. Some of the rentals are incredibly nice, luxurious, new, themed, etc. Some of them are run-down, dirty, poorly maintained. You need to do research and make sure you are renting one that is the former. Bonnet Creek is a resort that is effectively on property. Personally, to me Bonnet Creek is worth the premium.
