Windsor Hills vs. Bonnet Creek

My husband and I have always stayed onsite. I would like to try something different now that we have a baby (she will be 14 months when we go) and stay offsite, with a laundry and kitchen; and things like that on site are just way too $$$.
Anyways, I can't decide whether a 2 bdrm at Bonnet Creek, or a 3 bedroom townhouse at Windsor Hills would be better (my mom might come along too). I think we would love a splash pool, but the lazy river at Bonnet Creek looks great not to mention the location looks closer too.
Also, how hard is it to drive to either? I've never really paid attention before; always busy watching the video on the Magical Express! I suppose we would be renting a car from the airport. I am not much for highway driving (example: I WILL NOT go on the 401 in Toronto, scary stuff to me!) but I can convince my husband to drive I'm sure, or is it that bad?
And what is the normal rate for a rental car for a week?
Sorry for all the questions. Its just so different than what we normally did before. Any advice appreciated!

Just got back from WH and you don't really need to drive on an expressway (maybe I-4 to get to MK, but we never had any traffic issues) to get to Disney. There is a back entrance that takes you right into AK and Epcot. We had a 4-bedroom/4-bathroom pool house and it was wonderful. 192 has so many places to eat and get groceries and we never a problem getting around.

Was considering WBC for our next trip because they do have a shuttle to the parks (although I'm not sure how convenient it will be), but that depends on whether the kids want to give the private pool up. Cost appears to be about the same, although WBC does seem to be more crowded and rat race feeling from what I've read while the house was calm and quiet.

We rented a van in March for a week (spring break) for $200. You need to watch for deals on the transportation boards.

We love WH. March was our second stay there in 2 years. It is a different vacation than staying onsite. I found it MUCH more relaxing and leaving the parks for an afternoon break was not a big deal at all. The drive is quick and easy.

I've stayed at both and both places are nice. We stayed in a 3-bedroom townhome at WH and in a 2-bedroom unit at WBC. It's easy to drive to both resorts from the airport and it's quick and easy to get to the parks. We preferred Bonnet Creek because it had more of a resort feel to us.

Staying at WH is like staying at your very nice and well-to-do uncle's house, which just happens to be a stone's throw away from Disney. Very private, but not as many "central" amenities.

Staying at Bonnet is more "resort-y". More common amenities (better pools, mini golf, fitness center, etc.) but less privacy.

Both are great; it just depends on what sort of vibe you are looking for. My family slightly prefers the "resort-y" feel of Bonnet, but we really enjoyed Windsor as well. Neither require highway driving to get to the theme parks.
