Well I think I am very interested in Windsor Hills. I saw a lot of talk on here about the Storytime townhomes.. They are booked for my time frame..so I was wondering are there other great townhomes at windsor you can recommend..? How are the condos? I know you don't get the splash pool ...but the prices seem great. Any suggestions?

Thanks guys!

In our trips, we've stayed at I think 3 different owner's condos and had great luck at each. We found all of them through VRBO.com. I'm happy to send you contact info for each if you are interested. We just booked our Oct trip with our preferred owner and can't wait to get back down! We find the condos very spacious. There are a number of different layouts in both 2 and 3 bedrooms. We've always stayed in 3 Br's. All of the layouts are pretty similar.

We LOVE staying at WH. We generally eat breakfast at the condo, pack a lunch, and eat about 1/2 of our dinners there after naps. It works great for our family. If you have any specific questions, just ask!!!

We stayed at Windsor Hills in June and loved it! We rented a 3 bedroom condo through Florida Sun Vacation Homes. They were very friendly and helpful. The name of our condo was Treasure Cay.

We stayed in a condo in Windsor Hills and loved it. There are some pics in my trip report which is linked in my signature.

Our owners were so helpful and even sent us a card when we got home thanking us for staying.

With our small children we didn't want the worry of a splash pool we found the resort pool great to use. Although we didn't use it lots.

How much does a condo at Windsor Hills cost for a week, like for 7 days? And are they clean??? Do they smoke at the pool??? I read a review that said the smoking was terrible.... just curious.....

If anyone has any websites to recommend for a great deal for WH, please share.

We used this website, put in our requirements and the quotes came flooding back in. I then had a spreadsheet, discounted the highest and lowest quotes and then just went through the websites and found one we liked and that the owners seems helpful.

I can't remember smoking at the pool, if it was very horrid, I would have remembered, it is a big pool I wouldn't have thought it would be hard to find a place without smokers.

Our condo was very clean, but (I could be wrong) I thought the owners would organise their own cleaners so standards could vary I guess.

Windsor Hills isn't like a timeshare resort. All of the properties there are individually owned. Each owner decorates his condo, townhouse or pool home they way he wants and hires his own management company / cleaners etc. so furnishings, decor, and cleanliness varies. Any of the places I've stayed at have been clean but there have been more amenities in some than in others. It takes time to look for the one that suits your needs but for me that's part of the fun.

We stayed at the Storytime townhouse #3 last April and we loved it... but if you look on the Windsor Hills website mentioned above, you might find something similar!!

We just got back and stayed in Storytime #4! It was fabulous!!! Clean, lots of space, splash pool, washer/dryer, kid's room decorated with a Disney theme.... :)

We really enjoyed the freedom of this area. It is right across the street from the clubhouse and the owners were great to work with!!

WH is a beautifully manicured, gated community that is very close to Disney. It was perfect for us and if/when we decide to go back we will definitely be staying there again (most likely in the same townhouse)!

We stayed at "Mickey's Hideaway" in January 2008. It is a condo, not a townhouse, but pretty close to the main pool. The unit, decor and owner were absolutely fabulous. I had never rented from an owner before and was pretty nervous about it. Jennifer answered all 5 million of my questions. They also own "Mickey's Condo" and "Mickey's Clubhouse" (which is a house - 5 bedrooms I think). I would love to stay at one of her places again, but my extended family was undecisive on whether they were going to come and now my dates are booked. :sad2: Oh well, I agree with Simpatico, finding a place is 1/2 the fun! Good luck!

We just returned from "Mickey's Hideaway" 2 weeks ago. We loved this place!! This is the second condo we have stayed at in WH. The first one was not Disney theamed, but very nice and clean. Besides it was just me and DW.

This time it was me, DW, DS, DS, DD, in-laws, & nephew. The owner has thought out just about thing you might need, even down to the pool toys. The decor is awsome. We loved all the "Mickey" decor in every room. We will be staying here (or at the other condos they own), on future trips. I can't say enough good things about the owner or her condos.

You can PM for any specific questions

Well I am still deciding...We are making our decision tonight...Do we go with Windsor or POR. We got a 2500 quote from POR w/dining plan and 4 day MYW tickets....but we will give up comfort with 2 double beds and a trundle. My kids aren't exactly the nicest sleepers..I have stayed in a queen bed with them and got kicked and knocked in the face numerous times....not to mention my oldest is a teeth grinder!

Or I can go with Windsor..which would solve the comfort problem. I have received sooo many quotes that now my head is spinning again. They got some great pricing for my time frame. But now I am confused on which one to go with and you are always very nervous about getting an owner who doesn't take care of the property.

I also got to add the parking in and ticket prices..POR is the better deal I am sure..but :scared1: to not get any sleep might not be worth it.

Has anyone stayed in Windsor hills and were disappointed with the condo/townhome?

In 3 different condos, we've never been disappointed. Also - don't be so sure POR is the lower cost - unless you really wanted to eat in the parks for every meal. If you eat 1 meal a day at the parks, the cost savings from staying at WH will make it a pretty close call...
