Is there anyway to adjust/edit/condense the start program files list? I have oh 12 Dell support folders that have 1 thing each Id just *love* to put into one folder if I knew how...

Thanks!

I think I know what you mean. But you may not want to do that. If any of those are installed programs on your PC, if you move them to a new location (new folder), they might not run properly.

Right-click on the Start button itself and choose Open All Users.

Double-click on the Programs folder. You will see all of the files and folders on the Start menu.

Then in the menu at the top, click on File/New/Folder, then give the folder a name like "Unused Stuff".

Then start dragging and dropping things into that folder (or cut and paste them) that you don't want to see on the Start menu.

When you close that window and click Start/All Programs, you'll see the new folder you created as an entry on the Start menu with all of the stuff you put in it.

If you really think you don't need the stuff, first go through Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and remove the stuff you don't need. Dell (and many other manufacturers) put a lot of junk on the systems.

Moving the shortcut on the Start menu does not move the actual program files. It only moves the shortcut to a different place on the menu.

A shortcut is just a "pointer" to the actual program file and can be placed anywhere.

You are correct that moving the actual program files may cause problems, but that would have to be done in Windows Explorer in the Program Files folder itself, and that's different than the Start menu.
