any one got an apple Mac book
is there much of a differnes between the two and would I be able to send all my files from this laptop windows XP to an Mac easiely
thanks for any infor

We have an Apple laptop and love it :thumbsup2 DH says their is no problem with transferring and we do have windows WP set up on ours so we have the best of both worlds :)

We have an Apple IMac desktop and an Apple Mac Book. One you use a Mac you will never want to go back to Windows.

Files can be transfered easily and we use Microsoft Office Suite on both machines.

You can even load Boot Camp on the machines and run Windows based programs, but we don't bother with that as once you get into OSX you'll love it. :thumbsup2

If my laptop dies, a Mac book I shall get :)

They are brilliant from what I have seen of them:thumbsup2:

I agree, although the latest incarnations of Internet Explorer seem to include a lot of the Mac's neatest features. Hands up which other Mac users try to use hot corners on a PC :rotfl: .

The only thing I'd say is that Macs can be slow (and they seem to get slower over time), so make sure you buy one with plenty of processing capability. We've had to buy extra RAM for both the iMac and the iBook. Also, Safari eats RAM, slowing down other applications. We've discovered you need to regularly quit Safari completely (not simply close it) to restore the RAM to full capacity.

We also run the full Microsoft Office Suite on the Macs, but I wouldn't bother getting Windows - defeats the whole point of having a Mac. If you're a big user of MSN Messenger, you'll find that the Mac version doesn't have all the latest gizmos (or so my kids tell me).

at moment weve got a toshiba laptop and a pc,but as eldest going to uni to study computers weve got to get him a mac.when we went to look at uni were told that mac is best they should now.He is only going to manchester down the road but he will be staying on campus first year(DW hopes he will be back at home second year)

We are big Mac fans. I have an Ibook and DH has a Mac book we also have a Mac mini. The files will be easily transferred and the Mac book does have a dual boot so that you can use Windows. We find Safari best though. I use my Mac for editing video footage and pics. My PC would crash a lot when doing this. I have no problems with the Mac though. As Deb recommends make sure you get lots of memory.:)
