Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

Yay for that dang pool finally being open.

Claire is really becoming more of a fan of figment lately. She asks about it a lot and keeps telling me that we must ride it when we go. i don't mind it at all. Not the best ride, but not awful. I can barely remember the original....at least i think I rode the original.

I can appreciate Figment but Danielle doesn't like the smell. Needless to say we still make her do it with us. Everyone enjoys the games at the end of the ride. Danielle has also been know to enjoy the candy in the shop.

I'm glad your brother found his happy place. I hope having a meal without the boys helped to extend his good mood.

After seeing your two boys and your bother's 4 boys I have to ask, does anyone have any girls?

Looking forward to Illuminations! Perfect way for them to end their trip.

Tired of Figment yet? I thought you might be (well, everyone except Stringbean).

I love Figment. I made my family go on this. They were not as happy about it has I was:lmao:

Yup - Pat you can ask for the super big binder they have at all the restaurants that list every ingredient in every item. Have you ever seen one of those books? I have. Because I was stuck in line behind someone who requested it and he read it for a good 5 minutes before he FINALLY placed his order. Meanwhile, about 10 customers in the opposite line had ordered. Ugh - I'll never forget THAT book! :faint:

Ahh Yes the book. I just don't want to wait in line, get the book and have to wait again since I will obviously move to the side to make my decision. :headache:

I LOVE Figment...I don't know why he gets so little love. I was very depressed when I read that they might be doing away with that whole pavillion; I will NOT be a happy camper.

I'm glad the pool was finally open, but so sorry that it rained on your pool time.

Sounds like you had a nice dinnern with the boys.

Wow...those really were powerful words out of your nephew. :worried:

Can't wait how Soarin' went the second time and whether or not the rain ended for Illuminations.

The title of your update made me start singing immediately.

I have such fond memories of Imagination, so I can't miss it whenever we go. Figment was my absolute favorite. I still have my original HUGE Figment doll from when I was five....

Good thing that you didn't go to the touch and taste lab.

"With F-I-G-M-E-N-T you can see things differently...."

Me: (Reading C.O.'s comment) Hey! HEY!!

DF: What?

Me: Someone on the boards is making fun of Figment!

DF: HOW CAN YOU HATE ON FIGMENT??? What, do they not like Eric Idle???

:rotfl:

Never liked the ride. For a Journey Into Imagination, it's weird that the ride isn't really all that imaginative.:confused3

Plus, Figment was mean to me when I was a kid. Remember when they had the Dreamfinder out meeting guests? He had a little puppet Figment on his shoulder who would whisper into his ear, and then he'd tell you what Figment said. I have lots of freckles, and Figment said he "wanted to play connect-the-dots on my face."

I could never tire of Figment pictures!!! :goodvibes Love Figment! Reid & I sing the "Imagination" song quite often around the house.

So sorry it rained the day your pool opened up. And that you had to rearrange your dinner plans. That was really sweet what LJ told you though about his dad smiling after Soarin'.

Hope the rain finally went away for y'all!!

I like your "one and a half boys" picture. :rotfl2:

Wow, the comment from your nephew re. seeing his dad smile for the first time in a long time. I don't know what to say either. I guess I'll just say...it's sad, but good that he found his smile on Soarin'. :)

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thanks! I am proud of him for already going in yesterday and lining up his recommendations and talking to the guidance counselor. It's great that he is getting right on it the first day of school.

Isn't it nice when they take the initiative? I checked Chelsea's grades online yesterday for the first time this year, and I was a little nervous -- but she is doing awesome -- even in her AP history class. I was relieved and proud! :)

That was really nice of you to watch the boys so your BIL and SIL could eat together. Marc and I have our "date nights" after the boys are in bed. We cook something nice, watch a movie, and snuggle on the couch at least once a week. There have been a couple time my MIL watched them while we went to town and ran errands and that seemed like a really great date! :rotfl:
Anyway, I'm sure they really appreciated it.

I can remember when my boys were little and it was almost impossible to get a date night. Sometimes the best dates are right at home with a good meal and a good movie, although I have a terrible tendency to fall asleep during even the best movies. I hate that! :headache:

Even having time without the kids to run errands is huge when your kids are little. You feel so "free". It's a great feeling!

Ugh! I’ve fallen so far behind on all the TR’s I’ve been keeping up with! Sorry! But I’m back now and ready to read and catch up, yaya!!

I also appear to have so much to say that I'm going to post with each days thoughts, so that this post isn't HUGE.

I am impressed with how well you are catching up. I looked at all your comments last night and decided I better wait until today to reply. I'm not always my brightest after 10pm. :rolleyes1

I totally get that in the dark, still late night feeling at Disney, the dang black out blinds! I’ve definitely also woken up and been all “wow, my alarm must be about to go off, I’m wide awake and ready to go” and when I’ve checked, it’s only 3 am…oops

I hate that. I can't stand to think I slept all night and then I find out its only 3am. And sometimes, when I am super excited about something, I can't fall back to sleep. Ugh!

That’s a good policy! I’m going to need to adopt that once I have any amount of teenagers with me haha! Thankfully, most people are okay with getting up early now (although I’m still up at least half an hour if not more than them)

I am always the first person up in my house on the weekends. I just feel like I get a lot done while the house is still quiet. Other times I want to sleep but my cats, who are so used to my early mornings, start scratching at the bed room door in their attempt to be fed. Stupid cats!

Oh my goodness!! As if it took that long to get to the park!! That is the one thing I don’t like about the resorts with internal busses/busses that go through to every “area” of the resort before leaving. That! Is why I love the monorail resorts, and the values, where there’s one stop, and that’s it! Haha.

I swear the bus service to the parks is the best from the values. You may have to wait for a bus or two on the way home, but the trade off is you go straight to your stop. I was definitely NOT a fan of the internal bus system or the whole 20 minute SSR loop. Too long!

I really do love the view of the castle from CP, it’s great!!! Breakfast looks like it was a hit, yum! That food is some of my favorite on Disney property, it’s also great to see that everyone, even the teenagers got in on the character fun!

I love CP. That and Cape May Cafe are my two favorite breakfast buffets. CMC is a little bit more subdued and I love having a late breakfast there after hitting Epcot first thing in the am. I agree, the view of the castle from CP is awesome!

Holy that’s a lot of people for the Peoplemover! I’ve never seen it like that! I never spend any time in Tmrland in Disney, I have yet to ride Space, think I’m going to do it next week, and CoP is definitely on my list of things to do!

Can you believe we never rode the People mover once this trip? :confused3 Actually, hard for me to believe cause I love that ride. I hope you love Space and CoP is just - well- its so cute and nostalgic. When you get to the last scene look closely at the oven - I used to have the exact same one. I got rid of it two years ago with a kitchen remodel.

I love that while in Disney you can just talk to anyone, strike up conversation with anyone at basically any time, everyone’s so friendly! I’m glad everyone had some time to relax and do what they wanted to do after a busy morning in the parks.

I really do enjoy meeting new people in Disney and I especially love chatting it up with other DVCers because its so nice to trade experiences. I learn a lot and their is an immediate bond!

See?! That loop! Drives me insane!! But yay that you guys are getting back into the park! I love it when you’re returning to a park later and you see lots of people leaving, gives me happy thoughts haha.

This summer the crowds were considerable less in the evenings. Kind of makes me wonder why we didn't just visit the parks in the evenings. No seriously, I am kidding. But evenings were a treat.

Oh Splash Mtn, I love you so. I’m super glad everything worked out and everyone enjoyed it! Yum! That burger looks delicious, I always go for the taco salad or such while I’m there, but that looks like a homemade delicious burger!

I love Splash too and I was thrilled that the CM let us ride. I know my nephews really enjoyed it and I'm sorry my brother missed it because I think he would have liked it too.

I do enjoy the taco salad there as well. :)

The Sorcerer’s game looks pretty cool, but I just couldn’t imagine doing it while there are so many other things to do! Plus I’ve heard that if you get to the screen behind another group, you kinda get things spoiled for you, but I am intrigued!

I would actually like to try the game, but I think it has to be when the crowd levels are really low. I hate feeling rushed and I'm not good at waiting. I bet right now is a perfect time to play it. I hope you get your chance.

Some great parade shots! I do really like a day in the parks followed by all the night time shows, I definitely skipped a couple last time, and sometimes, it’s just easier to watch them on different nights, spare the hectic-ness of the crowds haha, but it’s awesome to do it all in one! The castle looks so pretty with the floating lanterns on it!

I thought the castle show was amazing. I know I have said it here a bunch of times, but it was definitely a highlight for me and I am sorry they are ending it. I hope it gets retooled into something really great.

Ugh, that does suck being thrown under the bus! Boo urns! I’m always the first person up on trips, and I do my best to tip toe around until the official alarm goes off, but people have got to realize that there’s only so much space in resorts. Boo.

I was so not happy with my DH for throwing me under the bus and agreeing with Matt. It really made me angry because I think there was a much better way to handle. And once Matt got into the Disney spirit he didn't even mind getting up.

First - the big DIS meet is on Thursday, but it's the 18th, not the 17th. Don't want anyone to miss it!

OMG - thank you for correcting me. I looked right at my calendar and typed the wrong date when I knew it said 18. I'll have to change that.

Second - poor, wise LJ. I'm glad his dad smiled! He did pick a pretty great ride to get excited about!

He did indeed. And I hope on his second ride he smiled and laughed. And I hope that LJ was right next to him to see it. :goodvibes

Third - date meal - Maybe ok for them to just have a meal alone and if they really didn't know what they were missing...but dang, I know what they were missing and it would have been GOOD!!! At least they went somewhere alone. And you and the boys made out okay too.

I think that was my point - they really didn't know what they were missing and I just know they would have loved Les Chefs, plus I was going to have them take my TIW and charge it on my roomcard so they could get the discount. Oh well.

Fourth - I wish that when I was there in summer and it rained, it was just a shower. We always had lightning and the pools would close for hours. Lucky you - and some nice quiet hot tub time too!! BONUS!

2 hour pool closures is what I am used to during the summer. I lucked out big time this trip. I went to the pool almost every afternoon without major closures. It was great!

Fifth - Figment - I enjoy it - don't love it, but then my family starts singing "IMAAAAAGINATION!" at the top of their lungs and makes me nuts!!! Sarah can really sound like Figment too.

Do you think you can convince Sarah to do her Figment imitation for me in October? I'm thinking she'll probably say no, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

Sixth - NO BAG CHECK????? YOU? Wow, I'm impressed! ;) I was just wondering the other day about whether they would want to see a wristlet. Good to know you didn't have to be bothered.

Nope - walked right in with the wristlet because, IMHO, its really NOT a bag. :rotfl: I know - its really hard to believe I didn't go through a bag check. No worries - that will be the last time for awhile!

I've never done Figment!!! (Sara can shun me now.)

What????? No Figment????? What kind of a DISer are you? You have to do it, if only for research purpose. :rotfl:

I'm glad you FINALLY got to go in the treehouse pool (if only for a little while)!

I am too because (A) I got to hit the hot tub and (B) I never would have walked to another pool knowing that rain was imminent.

Awww... how bittersweet coming from a young boy. I'm glad your brother liked Soarin' so much! Hope he liked it as much the second time.

It just shows how sensitive kids are to their parents moods. As a parent, I sometimes forget that and it has made me much more aware. I am positive my bro liked it every bit as much the second time. :goodvibes

Props to ya to running on a sore foot! I know many people who say “screw it” to working out if they’re just “too tired” (aka, meaning they don’t want to, etc) The tree houses look so awesome! I’m in the midst of somewhat planning a bigger trip next year, and it looks like we might end up staying there, which excites me!

Truth is - my foot is still bothering and I suspect part of it is because I really need to stop running for a couple weeks, but I refuse to. It doesn't hurt when I run, only when I walk. I am in the process of setting up an appointment to have it injected. I have also learned that the teva flat flip flops are a risk factor for it. Apparently it is much more common in women in the summer. So the running probably set the stage and the flip flops did it in. :headache:

That is so exciting that you are planning a potential treehouse stay. Please feel free to ask any and all questions.

I feel like with EE sometimes that cue can get super backed up, and look way worse and more crowded than it actually is…maybe people just stop a lot to look at things and take pictures and it backs it up? I love the adrenaline rush in the morning you get by riding Everest! It’s such a good wake up!

I think you are right because I know we were in that queue less than ten minutes, yet we started all the way at the end of it. It really moved nicely.

FOTLK is by far my favorite attraction in all of the parks, and the rule is you CAN use flash, which is weird to me. At all our gymnastics/dance things you were not allowed, as it’s not that safe, but in FOTLK they’re flying around and dancing and being all crazy, I guess they just know what they’re doing well enough haha. You got some great pics! The dancer birds are by far my favorite, I would love to be one of them!!

I remember them saying you could use a flash but no videotaping. I was surprised, but I took all those pictures without a flash because I just don't like the way the flash makes the picture look. Way too harsh and difficult to edit that out. I really enjoyed that show and I will definitely be more of a repeat costumer in the future.

I’ve got to agree with Pizzafari, the pizza isn’t my favorite, any quick service pizza at Disney isn’t really, I had that sandwich last time, and I actually really liked it! Another relaxing afternoon at the pool! Yay! This is also something I want to spend more time doing next trip, I always spend all day in the parks and end up never swimming. Ugh! WPE is so delicious!!

Pizzafari was OK. I liked it better before I had the amazing veggie sandwich at REstaurantsorus (OK - I totally can't spell that right now)

I apparently don’t have as much, so here’s onto the next day too:

RnR is on my list of things to maybe, MAYBE try next trip, I have yet to go on it, and kinda just chicken out of it, even though I do everything else, and most people say it’s easier than everest, haha. I love all the artistic shots around ToT!
Hmmmmm - I'm not sure if it's easier than Everest, because they are two very different rides. The intensity of RnR is at the beginning of the ride because of the initial speed and inversions while the intensity of Everest is in that backwards motion. Personally, I would rather do the blast off and flips in comparison to the backwards thing. I have to close my eyes for that, even though its dark, because I get disoriented in my position.

Glad you like the Tot shots.

GMR is one I’ve only been on once, and it was an emh evening, haha, it tends to not be my first priority in DHS lol. I love TSM, yaaaay!! Ugh. Counter service in DHS…just ugh…I won’t eat anywhere except Starring Rolls, I’ve had that turkey sandwich twice now and it’s just plain gross. Oh my gosh I love the muppets, another one of my favorite attractions in DHS.

I really have to try Starring Rolls in October. I have been wanting to try it for lunch for awhile and I never do for one reason or another.

TSM was definitely a hit for our crew. They loved it!

That is a wonderful back drop for a pool, so pretty!! That dessert looks amazing!

The Congress Park pool is just so pretty. If I did a non park vacation I could definitely see hanging out at that pool as much as possible.

That dessert was awesome! :thumbsup2

Wooh! So much reading, I'm going to leave day 6 for another time though,
but I'm almost caught up!

You did a great job catching up and thanks for all the great comments! :thumbsup2

Me: (Reading C.O.'s comment) Hey! HEY!!

DF: What?

Me: Someone on the boards is making fun of Figment!

DF: HOW CAN YOU HATE ON FIGMENT??? What, do they not like Eric Idle???

:rotfl:

:lmao: I got a good chuckle out of this. Tell Wingnut I said thanks for the laugh! :rotfl:

Great update! I still miss the old Figment ride, but I suppose this one is cute too! I love Figment, I just don't love what they did to that ride! :scared1: I think that One Little Spark shirt is SO adorable, I need to buy it someday before it's gone forever! :thumbsup2

Yay glad the pool was finally open, even if it did rain!

Yay for that dang pool finally being open.

I know, finally! Just in time for the nephews to leave in the morning. At least they got to use it before they left.

Claire is really becoming more of a fan of figment lately. She asks about it a lot and keeps telling me that we must ride it when we go. i don't mind it at all. Not the best ride, but not awful. I can barely remember the original....at least i think I rode the original.

I never rode the original, so I can't even compare. That's so cute that Claire actually asks to ride it and talks about it when you're not there. Well, Of course you MUST ride it with her and I think she needs that cute T-shirt too!

I can appreciate Figment but Danielle doesn't like the smell. Needless to say we still make her do it with us. Everyone enjoys the games at the end of the ride. Danielle has also been know to enjoy the candy in the shop.

That's so funny that you are the second person who mentioned the smell and I never even noticed it. Is my nose broken???? Maybe it was so brief that I forgot it. :confused3

I'm glad your brother found his happy place. I hope having a meal without the boys helped to extend his good mood.

He really did find his happy place and that was great! I know that he and SIL really enjoyed their meal alone. They came back happy and refreshed. :thumbsup2 Hey - maybe they didn't go to dinner afterall? :rolleyes1 :rotfl: Kidding!

After seeing your two boys and your bother's 4 boys I have to ask, does anyone have any girls?

Nope. My poor mom has 6 grandsons and no granddaughters. Can you believe that? She's ok with it, but it is kind of weird.

Looking forward to Illuminations! Perfect way for them to end their trip.

It was a great way to end the trip and I know they really like it. Of course, I never tire of Illuminations, so I was more than happy to watch along with them. It really was lovely.

I think CO is your Marv !!! Do ya need help!!!:confused3:lmao::lmao::lmao:

The Captain IS a bit of a trouble maker, but I think between the toy of us we can probably keep him in line. ;)

Tired of Figment yet? I thought you might be (well, everyone except Stringbean).

I love Figment. I made my family go on this. They were not as happy about it has I was:lmao:

:welcome: mom2munchkins! I think this is your first post. Please correct me if I am wrong.

So, you had to force your family to go on Figment? My family actually has to force me to go on Its a Small World. :rotfl:

Ahh Yes the book. I just don't want to wait in line, get the book and have to wait again since I will obviously move to the side to make my decision. :headache:

Well, my experience with "the book" is that it held up my entire side of the line. So you are very courteous to consider stepping out of line. I'm not sure if you really have to. Of course, you would probably get a lot of dirty looks if you DID stay in line.

I LOVE Figment...I don't know why he gets so little love. I was very depressed when I read that they might be doing away with that whole pavillion; I will NOT be a happy camper.

REally? I had no idea. That would be terrible because they already basically closed the pavilion where body wars used to be. That just seems wrong to close Figment, too.

I'm glad the pool was finally open, but so sorry that it rained on your pool time.

Well, at least I got some hot tub time, so it wasn't a total wash out. I also needed a few minutes to myself everyday, so it worked out perfectly.

Sounds like you had a nice dinnern with the boys.

We really did. Those boys love Nick, so they really enjoyed getting all his attention. It was fun!

Wow...those really were powerful words out of your nephew. :worried:

I know. Kids notice that kind of stuff and they also aren't afraid to comment on it.

Can't wait how Soarin' went the second time and whether or not the rain ended for Illuminations.

Soarin was just as great the second time around and Illuminations was right there waiting for us. It was a great way to end the night.

HOLY CATFISH!!!!!!!! I sooooooo need to get that figment shirt!!!!! (stringbean you are not alone) I love him more than words can say figment =swoon <3

The title of your update made me start singing immediately.

I have such fond memories of Imagination, so I can't miss it whenever we go. Figment was my absolute favorite. I still have my original HUGE Figment doll from when I was five....

See Stringbean - You are not alone in your love of Figment! And they make Figment dolls? Who knew? :confused3 I obviously led a deprived childhood.

Good thing that you didn't go to the touch and taste lab.

"With F-I-G-M-E-N-T you can see things differently...."

I am almost afraid to ask what happens in the touch and taste lab. Sounds potentially dangerous, :rotfl:

Never liked the ride. For a Journey Into Imagination, it's weird that the ride isn't really all that imaginative.:confused3

Stringbean? I think thems fightin' words!

OK - NOW the real story comes out. :scratchin Considering I have (or had) a ton of freckles, that statement was a little harsh. But I think its time to move on now! :rotfl:

I could never tire of Figment pictures!!! :goodvibes Love Figment! Reid & I sing the "Imagination" song quite often around the house.

Stringbean...woo hoo.....Another fan! :cool1: See - there are plenty Figment fans. And you all need that shirt. I'm serious. It's so cute!

So sorry it rained the day your pool opened up. And that you had to rearrange your dinner plans. That was really sweet what LJ told you though about his dad smiling after Soarin'.

No worries. I got some hot tub time in and I really did enjoy my dinner with the boys because starting the next day I was about to get some alone time. ;)

I hope LJ gets to see his dad smile a lot more.

Hope the rain finally went away for y'all!!

Spoiler - it did and we were quite happy about that.

I like your "one and a half boys" picture. :rotfl2:

Yeah - who was that tying their shoe? Didn't they know I was taking a picture. Boys! :sad2:

Wow, the comment from your nephew re. seeing his dad smile for the first time in a long time. I don't know what to say either. I guess I'll just say...it's sad, but good that he found his smile on Soarin'. :)

It was sad and I am glad he found his smile on Soarin and I sure hope he is finding it again and again.

Hey - where's the love? :rotfl:

Isn't it nice when they take the initiative? I checked Chelsea's grades online yesterday for the first time this year, and I was a little nervous -- but she is doing awesome -- even in her AP history class. I was relieved and proud! :)

You are braver then I am. :rotfl: I couldn't even go online and look at Brian's grades when he was in school. I have decided that I do better with the end of the semester surprise. I usually just ask Nick and he will tell me.

Yes - it is wonderful when they take the initiative. He went to see his guidance counselor again and is really trying to tap into her, so that's grade. He came home last night with his overall transcipt and I was very happy to see how well he's been progressing over the past 3 years. His grades have actually improved instead of dropping over, which often happens. I am thrilled to see that. Hi lowest end of year grade was an 89 and that was in 9th grade. Everything since has been a 90 or above.

Great update! I still miss the old Figment ride, but I suppose this one is cute too! I love Figment, I just don't love what they did to that ride! :scared1: I think that One Little Spark shirt is SO adorable, I need to buy it someday before it's gone forever! :thumbsup2

Isn't that the cutest shirt ever? I really was tempted, but I am just not a Tshirt person. I think I am too old to wear T's out in public. At least I am sure that is what Stacy and Clinton would say.

I wish I had seen the Old Figment ride. It sounds like it really was a lot of people's favorites.

Yay glad the pool was finally open, even if it did rain!

That was really the only afternoon that my pool time was disrupted by raing, so I really can't complain. It usually rains everyday like that in the summer, so I lucked out!

HOLY CATFISH!!!!!!!! I sooooooo need to get that figment shirt!!!!! (stringbean you are not alone) I love him more than words can say figment =swoon <3

I am really feeling the love for Figment right now. Good to know he has as many fans as he has haters. Go Figment! :cheer2:

That shirt IS really cute and hopefully it will still be there when you visit!

I am caught up!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I can't think of all the comments I made in my head (well, sometimes they were out loud, but they were directed at your BR and SIL, so probably not DIS appropriate anyway....:rolleyes1) but, I am REALLY happy you are finally going on a cruise! YAY! I hope you love it as much as we do!

Best of luck on U of MD, or wherever else he applies-

Those boys are all so cute! And look like they are having so much fun!!

YAY for that DISmeet!! What awesome DISers to meet!!!:thumbsup2

And MOST of all-

OMG, you are a saint. I would have killed them both years and years ago. :crazy2: Are you REALLY going to do it again??? :faint:
