We'll be staying the first week of October and I plan on sending a small package tomorrow via Priority Mail that will include toiletry items as we are only doing carry-on for our flight. Will we need Off (or similar)?

In all my visits to WDW, I have never been bothered by insects (and they do like me here at home).

The Disney "pest management" people do a phenomenal job of taking care of skeeters and other pesky insects that might disrupt the environment there. A few years back the Orlando Sentinel ran a piece about the head of the PM group there. They spray the wetlands, monitor misquito growth, and do a myriad of things to make sure you don't get bit by the pesky buggers.... It's almost kinda spooky [the amount of chemicals, etc. they use] if you're more towards the naturalist side....

We've never had problems there and our youngest (5 yo boy) gets wicked welts after being tagged by a misquito. Never any problems.... I'd leave out the Off! if space is a concern.

When we were there last August we stayed at WL. One night when we came back on the boat from MK the boat was FULL of mosquitos...it was nasty. They were all over the inside and outside of the boat. And the next morning when we took the boat from WL to the CR to have breakfast at CM's there was a maint. worker hosing down the bldg that houses the restroom/locker area on the way from the dock at the CR. He was hosing a TON of mosquitos off the walls there. Yuck!

So we like to be on the "safe" side and use our repellant. We swell up from bites so it's better we try to keep them away as best as we can. The repellant I use doubles as sunscreen so I don't mind using it. (Bull Frog Mosquito Coast spray & Avon's Buguard lotion). They are DEET-free products but very effective (we use it before our walk to school in the mornings here while it's still humid and muggy and it works great). We also used it in the summer.

We'll bring it with us next week for our trip. It's still FL and after the tons of mosquitos we encountered last year, it's still very humid and muggy.

Mosquitos carry some nasty diseases. Bring repellent with DEET. You can find it in wipes if you don't want to send a bottle or spray can.

I've been bitten many times by mosquitos while at WDW and it's no fun to itch your way through a holiday.

Also, there are tiny stinging gnats called "no see ums" that will make your life miserable. You'll not feel them stinging, but you will certainly feel the itching a bit later.

The Health Department still has a warning issued regarding mosquitos, which recommends in part, using spray with DEET, staying indoors in the early am and at dusk, and keeping the body covered with light colored clothing.

Don't use perfume or hairspray either. Scented powders and scented deodorant are other items to avoid.
