Will we need FOTL for January 30-Feb 1st?

We always used to go in April or May and always enjoyed FOTL (aka Express Pass!) by staying a night in the hotel. We weren't planning on getting a hotel room this trip since we were hoping the crowds would be lower.

But now I see there is some Harry Potter event taking place January 30-February 1st. Do you think that will draw in big enough crowds that we should book a night?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

I think that normally, those dates would mean lower crowds. However, with the HP event going on, it will certainly draw more people. I would think, though, that it would make the HP areas more crowded than the rest of the park. I can't say for sure, but it seems like I read on here somewhere about the rest of the park not being so bad during a HP event.. I haven't gone to one but I have been to Orlando in February before and it is considered the off season.

Keep in mind that the passes do not include any of the major HP rides. You can use it on Hippogriff and dueling dragons. You can always purchase the passes after you get there.

Probably not much help, sorry.. Dig around in the TR section because I am sure I read something about the last HP event and the lines in the rest of the park being mild..
