Will we need a bathing suit for DD3 at any of the parks?

I saw on another thread that some parents pack swimsuits when going to the parks.

Do any of the parks have water play areas? I've been to WDW many times, but I'm drawing a blank!

Thanks in advance.

The only water 'play' areas that I can recall would be the carved figures over by the Jungle cruise (or is it in AK?). IMO these would hardly render the need to a swimsuit.

In MgM They have a fountain that sprays all over the place every so often :cloud9: :surfweb:

There are some very wet fountains at Epcot where one can get soaked as well as Donalds Boat in MK IIRC. We never brought bathing suits but always brought a change of clothing until the kids were 4 or so. This way if we had a need for changing - wet or even that ice cream spill we were ready.

My boys got SOAKED at Donald's boat which was fine w/me because they were having an absolute blast. I just brought them both a change of clothes. Dh took them to the bathroom and changed them afterward. Be sure to bring along big ziploc for the wet stuff.

In warm weather, you must bring a suit to Epcot for little kids.
The play fountains are a terrific break for them.
My DS7 loves them.

All 4 of the theme parks have splash play areas for young children, though not all of them may be open at any given time.

If you don't want her to wear wet clothing in a stroller after playing in the water, a swimsuit or a full change of clothing is a must, and nonslip waterproof footwear is a good idea for safety. I also always brought a swimmer's chamois for drying off quickly and thoroughly after water play; a chamois takes up a lot less room in your bag than a regular towel.

The new Pooh Bear Playground has a wet area that many of the kids were enjoying. It is a soft surface with intermittently spraying fountains. It is very similar to the fountains in Epcot between FW and WS. I would bring a swimsuit or a change of clothes for your child if you plan to let her play in this area.

We bring swimsuits for my 6 year old in the summer for the water play areas and Kali River Rapids. We'll bring a medium sized hand towel to help dry her off (and us after Kali!).

I've never heard of this new playground. Which park is it in? Thanks! Sounds fun.

Thanks everyone. Thankfully, a swimsuit doesn't take up a lot of room, so we'll carry one with us just in case. DD loves the water!

Definitely bring one to EPCOT.

We've seen many a kid whose parents let them play and subsequently get drenched. We always bring swimsuits for play in the water areas--there are 2...one on the path from SE to World Showcase (just before you get to the monorail track) and the other is when you go through the commucore breezeway (to the left) on your way to the MS and TT attractions. There is one in there somewhere.

The new pooh bear playground is in MK in front of the Pooh ride. We haven't been yet but saw it when running through the parks during the half marathon. Looks like lots of fun and good to know that swimsuits might be a good idea.

We just took a change of clothes for each child in a non-descript (unworthy of theft) plastic bag in case of any wet rides or spills and things. Suits only at water parks and hotel pools. The key at Disney is basic, basic, basic! Have a wonderful time!
