First time going to wdw...we are going in sept. And want to know if we are not planning to attend the event, but want to enjoy the actual park, do we get kicked out since we dont purchase that extra ticket? I dont really know how it works if the festivities are in one area or what.. but i notice many days in sept say something about special event hrs and that got me worried... and it is in all parks! I appreciate your help!

Yes, it is the Mickey's Very Scary Halloween Party which starts at 7pm. Yes, you will be kicked out without a band.

Yes. You will be escorted or directed from the park. Party goers will have identifying wrist bands. If you don't have one they will tell you it's time to go after 7pm. With one exception. If you are buying merchandise in the stores, they seem to let you continue to spend money. But once you hit the street they will find you.

Yes at 7 pm you will no longer be allowed into any store or any ride and they will cordially escort you out if you do not leave on your own. MK closes at 7 pm to anyone not purchasing a MNSSHP ticket. If you want a MK day where you will be able to stay into the night without purchasing an extra ticket you will need to plan to go on a day the party is not held.

The party is park-wide and there are special events everywhere. It's not like a desert party where it's just a small section. It only affects MK so if you have park hoppers, just hop out before the party begins. The MK will typically be less busy on the day of a party because of shortened official hours, so it can be a good choice. If you do not have hoppers, just choose a different park for that day.

ETA: If your family is into Halloween at all, you might consider going to the MNSSHP. They are really great!

Good call. The parties are staggered throughout a week so make sure to do MK night time on one of the non-party nights so you can see the Electrical Parade, Celebrate the Magic, and Wishes! Good hopping strategy can really help with crowds (just note the time it takes to get from one park to another). Are you using a crowd calendar to help your planning?

Once the party starts you will be directed towards the exits. CMs will do sweeps looking for people without wristbands. You will not be allowed in any lines or to purchase anything if you don't have a wristband.

Nor can you visit the restroom on your way out (from my experience). Plan your exit!

I have gone several years during Halloween Party season and it is a mixed blessing. You should definintely consider going to MK during the day on a day that the party WILL be taking place. The crowds are much more manageable on those days precisely because many other people (mostly without hoppers) choose not to "waste" their MK day on a day where they have to leave early. The exit right around 7 is extraordinarily busy; if you are not late dinner eaters (7:30+), you'll want to time it so that you're out sometime between 6-6:30, or perhaps eat in the park with a dinner reservation in the 6:00 hour (it's ok if your meal extends until/past 7 - they'll just escort you straight to the exit after your meal). I like to make an ADR or plan to eat at a counter service in one of the monorail resorts around 6:30-7:00. You can maximize your time in MK, then hop a boat or monorail and grab some dinner, then explore that resort or simply make your way back to your own resort.
