But buy 10 day park tickets that could be used for

I am doing a split stay in January (all onsite). What they did for me was put my 10day pass on my first reservation only. Then the rest of my stay at the other resort is a room-only reservation. I imagine it would be the same for you whether you second reservation is offsite or onsite at another resort.

Yes you can do that. The second res will be room only, and you cannot add the dining plan to that ressie (ticket purchase is required to add the dining plan)
