Will this work or is it just crazy?

Basically we have left it rather late to book our annual disney christmas trippie. We were planning on the 16th of december till the 20th however it appears that all hotels except the newport bay are booked up on monday the 17th. So after a bit of head scratching I came up with a bit of a crazy plan. The newport bay is free for our whole trip but a bit too expensive and annoyingly we have aps that run out on the 19th of december sooo we cant book room only.

so I thought, in my wisdom, that we could book one night at the sequoia lodge then switch for one night at the newport bay and then switch back for two nights at the sequoia lodge! And as we have APs we can do room only(via expedia) the first two nights then book two nights with tickets at the sequoia. Phew.

Do you think this will work? Or will the three check in and outs drive me crazy.

If you travel light it may work. Do I assume its just 2 of you- no children? That will make it easier then kids in tow.

Do you need room and tickets the last 2 nights. Could you not just buy tickets whilst there- just thinking might make it less confusing if its all room only.
Have you looked at the off site hotels. You can sometimes get some really good deals at Holiday Inn etc

The other thing you could do is book what you say but ask about a room at Sequioa for the night if theres a cancellation

Yeah just the two of us! We usually travel pretty light anyway.

Its a good idea about the cancellation thing, I wonder if they would just transfer the booking as it is a cheaper hotel or we would have to pay extra?

I like the suggestion of buying the tickets whilst there, makes a lot of sense. Its rather quite annoying our annual passports run out half way through!

I looked at the offsite hotels and they are actually more expensive! We like to be within a short walk anyway as the crowding on the buses gets a bit much sometimes.

Thanks for the help! It has given me somethings to consider!

Have you checked on Expedia for all the nights you need? I couldn't get Christmas Eve via Disney both the website and by phone for any of the onsite hotels but was able to book the whole trip through Expedia.

In the end I had to add on an extra night due to flight changes and via Disney it was £274 but via Expedia it was £134! (Cheyenne Hotel) Obviously with Expedia it didn't include tickets but I can buy hopper tickets 4 for 3 days at £77 per person.

Yeah checked expedia and no luck unfortunately! The whole resort is booked on the Monday night. Work constraints force us to go from the 16th otherwise there would be no problems. Ah well, thanks for all the help, I might give Disney a ring see what they suggest. :)
