Will This Save Money?

A friend booked the CBR in March '05.

He and his son are staying there for 7 nights.

His wife has a business conference and will be at an Orlando hotel for 4 nights. She will join them at the CBR for just 3 nights and 3 days at the parks.

So he booked a package (Ultimate style) for the room under just his name and his son's. So he will get two key/Ultimate passes (him and his son) and he had to pay the single parent rate for the package which is a bit higher that the two adult price.

Then he is going to buy Park Hopper tickets for his wife.

Is he saving some cash by doing this?

I also wonder if the three of them will be able to go to early entry with two key passes and one Park Hopper ticket?

Hmmmmmmmm? What do you think? :smooth:

She will need her own key. I believe he can just check her in as an extra person when she arrives, no charge. At that point, she could get a UPH of her own, or use a Parkhopper, but she will definitely need her own resort ID to do EMH and she could be asked for it at the pool, or on the resort buses.

Edited to add: The best way to find out what would be cheaper would be to call Disney, and get a quote for both scenarios.

Kungaloosh!

One thing to remember is that IF you're doing a package of any sort (i.e. room/park tickets/meals or some combination) everyone on the room registration must be on the SAME package. So to add his wife for those 3 days/nites will necessitate her being added to the package (and paying the $$) not just being added to the room and buying a park hopper. If that's more than he wants to spend, he might want to look into doing a room only reservation for the whole time, then handle tickets on his own which will give him more flexibility in this case.

He wiill have no trouble gaining Early Entry to the Magic Kingdom because the Disney transportation will take them past the monorail/ferry. She will have her park hopper, and she'll be able to enter.

On the other hand, at the other parks, they DO check for resort keys before allowing guests in for early entry. 2 keys + 3 people = one family standing outside the gates.

In March, there will be some days of early entry and some days where certain parks will stay open later for resort guests. What I've read is that, for the "staying late" days, you need to show your resort room key to get a wrist band. No key, no wrist band.

Also, if it is spring break time, MK will check resort IDs at the turnstiles. That happens when it is more crowded.
