Hi fabulous disers!
I swear i couldnt do this without you guys..well i could id just be on hold with a cm FOREVER. lol So heres my deal.
trip:
March 15-22nd
POR prefered room
dxdp
kids 2. 5. 7

OUr payoff date will be end of january.. well we wanted to use half of our tax refund to pay off the trip this year and im almost certain we wont have it by then. Sooo heres what i want to do.
I want to reserve
March 15-22 prefered room with 2 days of tickets no dinning plan. Then when we get our refund in february ill add the rest of the ticket days and dinning plan.. This way i can pay off by 45 day mark. Will this cause problems? Will it cause problems if i just pay the room? will it cause problems with my ADRs?Im sorry if there is already a post or if im puting this in the wrong spot.:worship:

Yes. They book room only with different codes and it ended up being a issue when we needed to move stuff around before. Something with accounting according the special customer service rep that got back to us. They said something about the deposit should have been refunded to us and we should have then rebooked the package. I cannot remember the exact details but it was a issue and was not a seamless switch.

Thanks for the respo0nse! So maybe if i book 2 day tickets with room for entire party i could possibly add more tickets on and the meal plan without much upset? hmm maybe its time to just call and ask. :headache:

Yes that would be the better way to go. Your package to package then. You can add dining plan much closer to your arrival time than the 45 day mark. The CMs for Disney are very very nice and will definitely help you with this. Although it was a regular CM who first said it was no problem to switch room only and packages so that error was caught by higher ups in bookkeeping.

OK. I know there will be a lot of negative responses to this, but here goes. IF you know you'll have the money via a tax refund in February and can pay off the trip in January, why not just book the trip as you would like and use a credit card to pay at 45 days and then just pay off the balance when the bill arrives. Or worst case, carry a balance for one month and then pay it off. That is actually what credit cards were designed for when they came out, a short term float of cash. But do pay it off as soon as the tax refund is in your account. Don't even wait for the statement if it is the next billing cycle. If you pay it early, you eliminate interest.

If you want to book just a room only and no tickets and DP, you can do that and change later. You can still do your ressies at the 180+ day mark, I'm just not sure what you gain.

I say book the dates with the best discount you can get now and then update the reservation with any better deals that come out. Changing a reservation is very simple, especially if the cost is going up.

You have valid points. We don't use credit cards but let me tell you.... This trip is making me want to open a disney visa or an airline card. It's a good option. Just not for us for personal reasons. But I appreciate your thoughts thank you

We usually book room only and switch to a package closer to our date of arrival if we want to add DDP. It is very easy to do. You book only the room (no tickets at all) and pay 1 nights deposit. Then when you are ready to pay in full you call reservations and add tickets and ddp to make it a package. The CM will refund your 1 night deposit from the room only reservation and book the package using your same room only rate. We have usually gotten the 1 night refund in about 4 days but I think they tell you 7-10 days.
