Will this Monday's crowds be a little lighter than weekend?

My son (2.5) and I are tagging along on my husband's job interview trip and we were able to get one night (Monday) at the Grand Californian (hotel side) using DVC points! Our main goal is to hit Carsland as we are frequent WDW guests. It is unlikely we will be able to arrive at the hotel early enough to take advantage of early morning hours. Are we in trouble crowd-wise or should Monday be better than this weekend? We can't visit the park on Tuesday -- that's interview day. Thanks in advance for any insight!

due to the fact that CL just opened yesterday I dont think its going to make a bit of difference crowd wise whether you went this weekend or on Monday..its all going to be bad...seeing as your main goal is CL and you wont be there early in the am hours I think you may find yourself waiting in long lines as FP's may be gone by the time you get there (at least for RSR)...good thing is that since your son is 2 I would assume hes not doing RSR so maybe you guys can trade off and do single rider lines for that one and the wait time would be less...also for the rides he does do, I would do FP's and parent swap and also make sure that as soon as the time comes up to get another FP that you are at the FP machine for the ride you want ..if you are planning on going over to DL I think you are going to find that a little bit easier cause everybody is going to want to be at DCA

SoCal, the most popular AP, won't be blocked on Monday. Friday and today are probably a lot more manageable than Monsay will be. Just be prepared to wait.

So, if you had to choose a day to go would you choose Friday the 22nd, Saturday the 23rd or Monday the 25th? What day do you think would be the most manageable?

No question it will be Saturday when the Deluxe passes are also blocked. Its summer -weekdays don't make a difference.

Thank you! We have a two day park hopper so, I think we will try Wednesday and Saturday!

No problem. But, still, expect long lines. Today, with most passholders blocked, Mater's, Luigi and Radiator Springs were at around 30, 60 and 150 minutes most of the day. Tomorrow, with most passes not blocked, it will probably be around 60, 120 and 240-300 minutes, respectively.

I don't even plan on riding any of the Cars Land rides. I'm just hoping to be able to walk through it. We are perfectly happy seeing the rest of the park and riding all of the other rides. Last year we went the week after Star Tours and Little Mermaid opened, were able to ride California Screamin' five times. Goofy's Sky School wasn't open when we went last year so, we are hoping to get that in. Hopefully the rest of the park won't be too bad, we'll see!

Not riding the attraction that the Los Angeles Times said is "the pinnacle of theme park ride supremacy" is a huge mistake. Ride it. The single rider line is rarely longer than 30-45 minutes, even if the time board says otherwise.

I've been to all the Disney parks worldwide - its seriously the nost incredible and jaw dropping ride Disney has ever built.

if you arent doing CL then I think you're going to be fine...today TSM had like a 5 minute wait time in the am and the last time that happened was......
NEVER:rotfl:...and as far as GSS???? you are one brave woman:lmao:

On opening day, Paradise pier was just about completely empty until 9:35 ish. DBF and I got WOC fastpasses, checked out commemorative USPS stuff in front of the WOC viewing area, saw the new "Glow with the Show" hats, walked on GSS, TSMM, and Screamin before we saw people.
