Ok I know there are threads for each and every hurricane that has come around but I just have to ask.....when will it end????? We are booked on the October 16, 7 Night Eastern Cruise and with each and every storm I am waiting to see what is left to sail to once we finally get on the ship!!!!
I have a daughter in College at University of Central Florida and I have become a Weather Channel junkie, I watch for reports on the Florida weather more than our weather here in Pennsylvania. She has been evacuated from Campus twice so far (Charlie and Francis) For Francis she actually flew home and it was a waiting game for Ivan. So now here comes Jean just heard on TV it is now a Hurricane too although a category 1-2 they said.
I feel badly for everyone in the path of these storms and really hate to sound like I am complaining but I am concerned what will happen with our trip...with all the changes so far and the refunds excetra that people have allready received how much more will Disney give???? I mean if this continues will they still give the same "perks" for lack of a better term to future passengers that have been given to the ones so far????
What are your thought on any of this? I hope for all our sakes that this is over soon and everyone can just ENJOY their vacations without the worry about what is upcomming as far as the weather and so forth.

No telling what October will bring. Hurricane season doesn't end until November 30th.

I am sure disney will make good, whatever they have to do.

I know how you feel. This is a busy hurricane season. I feel like there won't be any islands (ports) left untouched by the storms! We are on the Magic special 7day after the 10 day. It is a western and we were hopping to get to Grand Cayman since we have missed it twice.

The first miss was on a Carnival cruise. A elderly woman had a stroke so the ship had to take her back to Key West then to the Grand Cayman. Instead of the 7:00 am arrival it was early afternoon arrival. The soonest we could get off the ship was 3:00 pm since we did not have an excursion booked -- we had to let the excursion people take the tenders first. The ship left at 7:00 so why bother getting off when we knew we had a western DCL booked. Well, on the DCL trip the sea swells were too rough for tendering so we missed it. Now, with the storm damage we will most likely miss it again but I am not 100% sure on that.

On top of all that, my favorite state for vacations and getting away from it all is taking a beating. I love Florida and the poor people have a mess this year. To think this is only the middle of Sept. I hope Oct. and Nov. calm down.

Another thing you have to remember is that hurricanes feed on warm water, and towards the end of October and November the waters in the Atlantic and Gulf are cooling down. There are usually not very many hurricanes in those months because of that very reason.

Jeane is next with Karl on her tail :( Like someone else already posted hurricane season does not officially end until Nov 30th. Our cruise is Nov 14th to 18th, so we're still in hurricane season as well. Even if we don't have a hurricane to deal with, there's always the question of what will remain of Castaway Cay or Nassau. For me, it's a vacation, and the destinations aren't that important (I would not be saying that probably if I was on the Western Magic though :) ).

And weather experts are predicting this might go on for DECADES, so this year might not just be a fluke. :(

Doesn't seem like it, does it, Belle? We sail (hopefully) on the Magic on 10/2. We're hoping to have a port to sail from (preferably Canaveral) and also hoping to have some ports to visit, altho if we had to stay on the ship the entire cruise, I really wouldn't mind that too much. Love the ship! Good luck to both of us!
