Will they let my DS 11 order a kids meal?

We are on the DDP and he will eat as an adult on the TS meals, but we are doing a few OOP meals and I would rather order him a kids meal, which will be more than enough. Do they let you do this on OOP meals for kids who don't have big appetites? I know I can't on buffets, but what about regular meals like Plaza, LTT, Kona, 50s PT.

Your 11 year old will be permitted to order off the kid's menu at non-buffet restaurants.

My 10 year old did it at Cali Grill and LC last week with no problems at all. We mainly did it to save her dining credits for 2 credit meals for us.

LTT, if you're choosing dinner, is not an a la carte restaurant and you would have to buy an adult meal for him if you didn't use a dining credit. LTT dinner is all you can eat served family style.

If you've chosen lunch, which is a la carte, you would be able to order a child's meal for him if they allow it.

Yes, you can. We have even had success doing it with an adult who is not very hungry. Most CMs are very accommodating.

My 14 year old ordered off the Kids menu at Narcoossee's in Aug. We paid OOP in order to save the dining credits.

We've never had an issue with this, for the most part. But then we did get told twice that our 'adult' children couldn't order off the childs menu when we were on the DDP. I figured it was due to the whole credit/tip thing....but for whatever reason, be prepared for a snippy server or two that will say no.

I am only talking about OOP meals at non buffet/character/family style meals. I am looking to order my son a child's dinner at LeCellier, Kona Cafe, and 50s PT. These are going to be TS for me and DH, but OOP child meals for DS. Do you really think they are gonna go for this? I don't want to waste an adult TS credit on him at places where there's no way he'll eat an adult meal. At buffets, that's different and I understand that, but it just seems like they won't want kids eating off kid's meals when they are considered "adults" on the DP. Again, I would be paying OOP for his kids meals and it would only be at the places mentinoed above.

Yes, we were just there with our 14-year-old boys. At times they preferred the adult menu, but at other times they wanted kid's pizza. No problem at all for them to order off the kid's menu.

Disney seems to try to discourage it by not giving them kid's menus. But, if we asked to see the kid's menu, it was fine.

We were paying OOP. I suspect Disney really loves it of your child is an adult on the DDP but orders a kid's menu. More money in Disney's pocket!

If you're paying out of pocket, they don't care. We don't ever get the dining plan. And my dd is 18 and, when she's not feeling hungry enough for a regular entree, will often order either just an appetizer or something from the kids' menu.
