Will they extend June park Hours?

I read somewhere that they thought summer travel would be up 15% over last year. If that is true will they most likely add hours in June. We were really hoping to stay til midnight on our last day at MK, but right now they have it closing at 10 every night. What do you summer experts think?

It is possible. It could be they add more EMH's as well

I hope so. The Sat we arrive the MK is sch to close at 10--seems kind of early to me.

Anyone else with any insight. I really need some encouragement that there will be extended hours and some more EMH hours if the crowd levels will be 8's all week as the UG folks are suggesting.

Hmm well I know last summer when we were there it was pretty busy but MK still closed at MK every night except for the enights.

I find it kind of strange that MK is closing at 10:00pm this summer. We have been going every summer for years and MK has always been open until midnight except on e ride nights. My guess is that they will extend the hours.

Certainly think that the 2nd half of June's hours will be extended but not sure how crowded it gets in early June. We don't even consider it "Summer travel season" until our kids are out of school, which this year is also the 1st day of Summer, June 21st.

We will be there the 18-25th. I really am hoping for some later hours by then. I really think they will be extended, but I'd really like them to do it soon so I can finalize my schedule.
Don't they realize that some of us have nothing better to do than sit around and plan our trips to the last detail?

You'll probably see them extend the hours about 30 days out. And, yes, it does make the planning challenging. We went Easter week and boy were those MK hours long -- EMH all week 7 AM-midnight and also one EMH night (7 AM-3 AM!).

We have young children, so really enjoyed the early hours. And because MK was open for so many hours of the day, the crowds really were reasonable until 11:30/Noon. In fact, all parks had reasonable morning crowds all week. Each day we'd leave the park and head back to the Poly. for a break and swim -- but oh my gosh, the crowds of people were POURING into the parks (MK, AK, MGM, lesser extent at Epcot) as we were exiting. Tons and tons of people, trying to get through security - ick!

I would nearly bet on it. Attendance has been extremely strong this year. I'd be surprised if there weren't at least a few 11pm or midnight closings during June.

Me too. Last June, it ran every night we were there. It was a bit into May before they added them though. We love Spectro.

I am also hoping for longer MK hours.....and more showings of Spectro. The more showings means that not everyone will be at the same one!
It is a killer when it is scheduled only once a week!!

But I think they will wait a couple more weeks....after the start of the 50th celebration to get a better idea of crowds.

We went the second week of June last year (and will be there the same week this year) and the MK closed at 10:00 every night. The extended hours began a few days (maybe a week--week and a-half) after we left.

Don't know if that will hold true this year or not, but who among us really does?

Drats! We'll be there the first week of June and I'd love for later hours to happen while we're there. I promised DH and DS that I would not make them get up too early....made no PS before noon and will try to get them moving by 11am, preferably 10am. Since the park hours are much shorter when we'll go in December they agreed to get up early then.

So, pixie dust for extended hours!!

I've done several trip in June the past few years. Our first trip-pre 9/11 MK was open to 11 by the second week. This past trip, MK closed either at 10 or 11 the last week in June. The hours have been even lower earlier in the month. They probably will increase some, but I wouldn't be on MK being open to 11 or later every night, even in late June. They are predicting a big travel season, but even with that I'd give at best 50/50 for long hours, and that would only be last 2 weeks of June. Sorry to say that.
