It has been a few years since I have been down to Vero Beach over the 4th, but they did not, nor can I see them ever, having a fireworks show at the resort.
The main reason for this is that July 4th is right in the middle of sea turtle nesting season, and since they are an endangered species, there are very strict guidelines about what can be done at their natural habitat. Since the baby sea turtles use the light of the moon reflecting off the ocean as a guide for which direction to go to, Vero Beach (and a lot of the Space and Treasure Coast) is very strict about nocturnal lighting. They do not want anything that might cause the newborn turtles to go in the wrong direction, and fireworks could definitely do that.
