My wife & I have stayed away from 99% of carbs & sugar for the last month. She has lost 11 lbs, and I'm down 15.

We will be attending the Wishes Dessert Party on April 12th. How do you think our bodies are going to react to the influx of sugar? My wife is afraid her blood sugar is going to spike to an unhealthy level.

What do you think?

(p.s... though we are both carrying around extra weight, we are relatively healthy.)

It depends on how much you eat there. You will have some extra calories to play with if you walk more while at Disney then you do while at home (about 75 calorie per mile) so you can indulge a bit. I think you can go have 2 or 3 pieces of dessert and be fine. Just don't overdo it and try to sample 20 different desserts.

Moderation grasshopper.

Actually, we're not that worried about calories. We're wondering how our bodies will react to the sugar... considering we've been sugar/carb free for a month.

Hey I dont see there being a major issue (in the end its calories in - calories out with weight). The only thing is have you replaced like sodas/etc with their diet counterparts. If so then you might have a slight metabolic disorder (where your body seperates sweet from sugar). You might end up with a slight headache, so I would certainly recommend not going to the party hungry.

I agree, moderation

I think it will make you stronger. You can taste, but must remember your healthy journey.

You may "feel" the sugar rush. If you do as you plan, moderate taste, you will be fine and should recover quickly.

Congratulations on your journey and dedication to a healthy lifestyle.

Whoo hoo! You are doing it!
