Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

As the Queen of Vacation Package Changes

Tell us something we don't know! ;) Seriously, thanks for the help. I figured as much, but I have never been so indecisive about a vacation as this one! The DIS Boards are a blessing and a curse!!!!:lmao:

I like the first Captain Jack.
So far that seems to be the majority. Stay tuned, I plan to post our mascot, hopefully later today.

I thought of you today when a student asked what "savvy" meant (it was in the book we are reading). :lmao:

Awww...you thought of me. I totally have a funny story for you, and even though it's a little off topic, I think I'm going to mosey on over to your pre-trip and post it there. Your loyal brethren will get a huge kick out of it.

You know, I knew I discoverd how deep my obsession ran when one day I looked at DS and said "Do we have an accord?":rotfl2:

I like the luxury of park hopping....it would take a lot for me to give it up even though on my last trip, I only went to one park a day. I like the option to do it but if you can add it on when you get there then maybe it's worth it to take it off for now.
I'm real helpful, huh? :rotfl2:

You know what...I do too. Although we don't always utilize it. It would probably save me about $143. MNSSHP is costing us $153.50. Oh, I could go round and round on numbers. But this is sort of like a big splurge trip, so I'm thinking park hopping might be nice...and lend itself to the whole fly by the seat of our pants no itinerary but ADRs concept. Savvy? ;)

I think getting rid of the Hoppers will throw out you No-Itinerary plan. You will have to PLAN to be in one park a day and that in itself is stressful, what if it's crowded? What if you have a hankering for a Dole Whip? What if you want to see giraffes? You never know what direction the wind will blow you towards until you wake up in the morning while on vacation. Keep 'em!

Ah, bless your heart! If LL says it, it must be true!

You know I get such a kick out of referring to you as LL...it makes me think that at any moment you're going to bust out with "I'm gonna knock you out...mamma said knock you out...":lmao:

Glad to be of assistance.
I like to refer to myself as LL lately. I just like the way it sounds. I have had many nicknames as well, and this one ranks at the top right now. :dance3:

Much like I love to refer to myself as TK. Or the TK family. Or TK says such and such. Yes, I also like to speak of myself in the third person. Especially on the DIS! How very Seinfeld of me. :lmao:

I find myself doing the third person as well. It's fun!

Chief mascot that is! Folks, I'd like to introduce our new trip mascot, who shall here on out be referred to as the Captain, Captain Jack Sparrow, Jack, Jackie, and whatever other wonderful names my little family can come up with.

So here's ole Jack, perusing our literature, and getting very excited about our MNSSHP tickets!

DSCI0001-1.jpg

See as we progress further in the pre-trip report, Jack will be introducing various topics and such with his cute adorable self. That is when he's not indulging in rum and drunkenly singing "and really bad eggs!" We'll have to make sure that he saves that for when DS is sleeping.;)

I also have some other sort of fun things to report today in the world of the TK family.

A little boring background. DH and I get paid bi-weekly. This results in two "extra" paychecks a year. Well, this week, is the first extra paycheck, which I had originally intended to go towards the vacation savings.

A little word on the vacation savings. Throughout the year, as we've accumulated additional treasure, in the form of items sold on EBay, overtime, incentive pay from work, etc, etc, ad naseum, it has all gone into the vacation savings. I have been extremely discplined about it, more so than ever before. I love having a designated account...try it, you'll love it! ;) Anyhoo, without even adding the "extra" paycheck, we already had about $900 in our vacation savings. That's approx. 4.5 months worth of extra treasure and booty. Pretty good, huh? I was quite proud of my piratey haul.

Then I had some issues last month. Suffice to say the credit card got a little out of control. We pay our bill in full every month, never carry a balance. It's how we roll. Ah, all this financial stuff you never even dreamed of hearing about us, huh? What an exciting installment!

Just in case you're getting bored, let me throw this back in...

DSCI0001-1.jpg

Isn't he cute?

Okay, back to finances. Suffice it to say, the "extra" paycheck was starting to look not so extra. Medical bills, etc on the credit card were slowing chipping away at our bounty. So, I was responsible, and payed off the card...very un-piratelike. pirate:

However, I was still able to salvage some of the loot. So today I made an additional deposit to the vacation savings of about $680. That'll give us around $1600. Very, very exciting considering the total cost of our package is about $2600. Now why am I so excited when I have a deficit of $1000?

Oh, my friends. A deficit it is not. For tomorrow is a day that shall go down in the history books, and henceforth by known as...the day the TK family received their stimulus check. Which is supposed to be about $1500, according to the irs.gov website. Let's have some     shall we?

In case you don't feel like doing the math, once I transfer that into the vacation savings, we'll have about $3100. This is awesome! Not only does that cover the vacation package, it'll help go towards our town car, gratuity for our table service meals, and other incidentals.

Then, we'll still be adding whatever bonus booty we have to the vacation savings, thereby amassing more and more treasure! Which is good for what, you may ask? Why, I'll tell you! It's good for next year's Disney vacation!

Because if there's a bounceback free dining offer in my room when I get there, you can bet your sweet patoot that I'm booking!

Now that only leaves where to stay????;)

:lmao: :lmao:
I hope the TK is talking about where to stay, NEXT YEAR!?

I am so happy for all your happy financial news!! :dance3:  :dance3:  :dance3:

I love the Captain, I think he was your best choice. pirate:

:lmao: :lmao:
I hope the TK is talking about where to stay, NEXT YEAR!?

Yup, you read that right. Last night I had an all consuming debate about where to stay next year! :lmao: Discussed with DH...he thinks I'm crazy. "We're all mad here." I also went online and priced out different packages so I could have an idea of what it will run us. See next year I plan to have more of a "budget" trip in the sense that I want it to cost under a certain amount. However, I reserve the right to withhold my top two choices considering that I will waffle on them so many times it will drive us to drink...copious amounts of rum...also, I want to see how much I enjoy the Lodge this year. I know I'll love it, but will I love it so much that it will ruin me for other hotels? Hmmmmm......:scratchin

I am so happy for all your happy financial news!! :dance3:  :dance3:  :dance3:

Thank you for wading through all of it! Oy! :worship:

I love the Captain, I think he was your best choice. pirate:

I think so too. He's just adorable, much like my DS. :lovestruc

Hey chicky,

I just wanted you to know that I'm not ignoring your pre-trippie. Not one bit. I'm just many, MANY pages behind here and have lots I want to quote, but I want to do it in true Tinkerbellarella fashion, so I'm saving it for when I can devote some good quality time to my sweet TK.

Well, thank God, because I was starting to develop a complex. And a twitch in my left eye. It wasn't pretty. :scared1: We all know about Libras and their insecurities...this list of mine is so long, well...:::ahem:::

Where was I?

Ah, yes! I know you've been busy. Since you're part of my brethren, I'll let it slide...long live the bonds of sisterhood! YA YA!:goodvibes

Is it raining where you are? It's raining here and today just feels very blah.

Yes it was. I was getting my toes done around that time.

10. Thoroughly review the kidnapping/escape plan as set down by Tink and TK for one ruggedly handsome, gorgeously dreadlocked, absolutely fabulous, rum-lovin' pirate

I'll bring the rope. And the sea turtles.

Wee!

I love the itinerant new itinerary of the non-itinerary.

We got one Incredibles, one Cinderella and Prince Charming, and one Mickey and Friends.

I got ours too. We got the dwarves and somethin' else. That somethin' was neither Cinderelly nor Tinkerbell. :(

That makes Tinkerbellarella sad.

I was really hopin' they'd at least be Halloween-themed.

But alas.

And who wouldn't like an immortal Captain Sparrow?

Rhetorical much?

I AM SO........KERFLOOTIN....JEALOUS!

I WANT a little Jack like this!!!

And no. Kerflootin is not a word. Until I had to make it up. In lieu of cussing.

We have him for our trip. The most recent picture of him has him standing on Missy's desk holding a tater tot. See?:

And LapuLapu Fest.

Oh, and all you crazy t-shirt gals? All I have to say is this - I want THESE tees for TK and I:

Guess who's all caught uuuup? Guess who's all caught uuuup?
(Sung to the tune of: I got a jar of diiirt. I got a jar of diiiirt. And guess what's inside it?)

Carp. That means that she who is all caught up has no more excuses and must catch up on her own report.

Argh.

Yes it was. I was getting my toes done around that time.

Aww...ah pedi! :goodvibes

I'll bring the rope. And the sea turtles.
We'll need lots of rum!

I love the itinerant new itinerary of the non-itinerary.
Thanks! I'm rather proud of myself. This is a huge step for me. In the sense that I really need a twelve step program to get over my over-planning. Instead I forged through all twelve steps which caused me to break out in cold sweats. Once those subsided, I was okay. "We're all mad here."

That makes Tinkerbellarella sad.
I was really hopin' they'd at least be Halloween-themed.
That would be too obvious! They're going for the element of suprise. Much like our attack on Captain Jack!

I am quite fond of the words I must use on the DIS in lieu of words I'm not allowed to say in front of my little peanut.

We have him for our trip. The most recent picture of him has him standing on Missy's desk holding a tater tot. See?:

jackandtatertots.jpg
And my question is this...why the tater tot? Don't get me wrong, I love them, but...why?

OHMYGOSHOHMYGOHSOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!

Mama like!

I seriously, seriously want one of these. Should he have them made? I think we should...however, the budget-minded gal in me says we need a coupon code for personalization. Don't they run those every now and again? I would seriously where this shirt, I love it!

Get crackin' missy! Not like the Kracken, crackin' on that pre-trip...oh, never mind.;)

That tshirt is absolutly awesome! This decides it, I am ordering some zazzle tshirts for my trip!

And my question is this...why the tater tot? Don't get me wrong, I love them, but...why?

Missy loves her some tater tots. So last year as a gag gift at Christmas I bought her tater tot pencil toppers. Well, they just so happen to also fit right on Cap'n Jacks sword.

And that is how the picture came to be.

OHMYGOSHOHMYGOHSOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!

Coupon code or not, I'm getting us these darnit! I'd love to do so and send it to you ahead of time. ;) I may not order from zazzle. I'm actually pretty crafty on my own so I might be able to whip these up at home. I'll keep you posted.

I saw thought and had a great chuckle over it -- things have been so crazy (and unfortunately, not all of them are good things) around here that I have managed to read my PTR, and pretty much nothing else. Hence, why I must try and catch up on everything during the school day.

Hurray for vacation savings and stimulus check!!! Ours is going to be our spending money for June. What a relief to know I won't have to panhandle in the lobby of the Grand Floridian. :rotfl:

TK --- As I was falling asleep last night (I promise this isn't creepy), I was going through my normal thought process. Wedding things, Cruise things, Disney things which leads to Dis things...where I was thinking about my fondness for LL. Well then it hit me! When I get married my new "real-life" initials are going to be LL. That must be why I like it so much! I was very proud of myself for realizing this connection and in daylight it just doesn't seem as impressive.

A little boring background. DH and I get paid bi-weekly. This results in two "extra" paychecks a year. Well, this week, is the first extra paycheck, which I had originally intended to go towards the vacation savings.

Hey, me too! It is nice getting the "extra" pay checks, innit? (oh, and hello, BTW. Saw you over at Tinkerbellarella's PTR and you were put on my PTR to-read list. :waves2: ). I would've liked my "extra" paycheck to go toward my trip costs, but we ended up organizing things kinda late, and the money had already gone toward purchasing a new TV, as my old one had lost the ability to emit sound. Alas.

Enjoying the pre-trippie! I hope to get through all the pages at some point.

What a relief to know I won't have to panhandle in the lobby of the Grand Floridian. :rotfl:

The mental image of you panhandling at the Grand Flo, with the kids dressed up like paupers a la Oliver is just too much of a mental image for me at 6:41 am. I am DED. But quietly, because the boys are sleeping.:rotfl2:

Hi! Welcome to the family!:grouphug:

Well, unless you're a big fan of silent movies, that tv does sound like an extra paycheck dealbreaker to me! :lmao:

Enjoying the pre-trippie! I hope to get through all the pages at some point.

And, bless you, my dear, if you are still with me after you read it all. And haven't unsubscribed...because sometimes I wonder...will people still really read this when it sinks in how crazy I actually am?;)
