Chief mascot that is! Folks, I'd like to introduce our new trip mascot, who shall here on out be referred to as the Captain, Captain Jack Sparrow, Jack, Jackie, and whatever other wonderful names my little family can come up with.
So here's ole Jack, perusing our literature, and getting very excited about our
MNSSHP tickets!
See as we progress further in the pre-trip report, Jack will be introducing various topics and such with his cute adorable self. That is when he's not indulging in rum and drunkenly singing "and really bad eggs!" We'll have to make sure that he saves that for when DS is sleeping.
I also have some other sort of fun things to report today in the world of the TK family.
A little boring background. DH and I get paid bi-weekly. This results in two "extra" paychecks a year. Well, this week, is the first extra paycheck, which I had originally intended to go towards the vacation savings.
A little word on the vacation savings. Throughout the year, as we've accumulated additional treasure, in the form of items sold on EBay, overtime, incentive pay from work, etc, etc, ad naseum, it has all gone into the vacation savings. I have been extremely discplined about it, more so than ever before. I love having a designated account...try it, you'll love it!

Anyhoo, without even adding the "extra" paycheck, we already had about $900 in our vacation savings. That's approx. 4.5 months worth of extra treasure and booty. Pretty good, huh? I was quite proud of my piratey haul.
Then I had some issues last month. Suffice to say the credit card got a little out of control. We pay our bill in full every month, never carry a balance. It's how we roll. Ah, all this financial stuff you never even dreamed of hearing about us, huh? What an exciting installment!
Just in case you're getting bored, let me throw this back in...
Isn't he cute?
Okay, back to finances. Suffice it to say, the "extra" paycheck was starting to look not so extra. Medical bills, etc on the credit card were slowing chipping away at our bounty. So, I was responsible, and payed off the card...very un-piratelike.
However, I was still able to salvage some of the loot. So today I made an additional deposit to the vacation savings of about $680. That'll give us around $1600. Very, very exciting considering the total cost of our package is about $2600. Now why am I so excited when I have a deficit of $1000?
Oh, my friends. A deficit it is not. For tomorrow is a day that shall go down in the history books, and henceforth by known as...the day the TK family received their stimulus check. Which is supposed to be about $1500, according to the irs.gov website. Let's have some

shall we?
In case you don't feel like doing the math, once I transfer that into the vacation savings, we'll have about $3100. This is awesome! Not only does that cover the vacation package, it'll help go towards our town car, gratuity for our table service meals, and other incidentals.
Then, we'll still be adding whatever bonus booty we have to the vacation savings, thereby amassing more and more treasure! Which is good for what, you may ask? Why, I'll tell you! It's good for next year's Disney vacation!
Because if there's a bounceback free dining offer in my room when I get there, you can bet your sweet patoot that I'm booking!
Now that only leaves where to stay????
