Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

That's lovely! What a pretty name. :)

Thank you:hug: we had a short list of 4 names Orla(means golden princess), Freya(nordice godess of love) or Madeline but Becci (dd12) decided on Niamh when she first saw her and it's funny becaus she does actually look like a Niamh and not any of the other names.

That is very pretty. And I think that was very nice that Becci decided on the name.

You pronounce it Neev, it means brightness and it's from a Celtic fairytale about a fairy princess called Niamh of the bright hair. Niamh hair is more wild than bright though:rotfl:

That's soooo pretty!!! We have a Scotch/Irish last name so DS got to be Connor -- he loves hearing the story about Connor and befriending the wolves -- we wanted a Gaelic name to go with our last name.

Whew. Just finished catching up on your PreTrippie. I figured since you gave such wonderful advice and emotional support that I should check it out. popcorn::

I'm the money guru in our household as well. I totally relate to you saying that you needed to bounce things off of DH. My DF is totally clueless when it comes to money but it helps just to bounce things off to make sure that you are making the right decisions and choices. My new goal is save for a trip at the Polynesian. I really wanted to stay there this time but I just can't justify with the wedding and honeymoon in June as well. My goal is stay there when we take our future little one there for their first trip. Not pregnant or anything, just planning a bit for the future.

The way you refer to your DS & DH just warms my heart. You seem like a lovely family. It's nice to hear someone talk so nicely about their family, at my workplace I am always listening to everyone talk about their families in not such a flattering way. Kudos to you!

After reading about your MNSSHP adventures, I am really glad we have extended our trip to include the party. Woo Hoo!! Now I just need to decide on costumes! :scared1:

First, I hear my door open. Then the little bare feet scamper across the floor. Then (s)he proceeds to climb in my bed. To sleep? :lmao:

Funny. I experience this same thing. Only mine are feline. However, they too are relentless.

That's how we start our Saturday in the TK family. With a Disney film. Is there really any better way? In case you all were wondering, today, it's Lilo and Stitch.

OH. MY. LORD. On my soul, I woke up on Saturday morning and started some cleaning, and, needing some "background noise" (read: distraction from said cleaning) popped in Lilo and Stitch. I swear, same genes, my friend, same genes.

What travels through the tender subconcious into the waking world to reveal itself at such activity?

Why, oh why, have I not booked a deluxe resort?

No way!

Oh, yes. You heard me right, folks. A deluxe. Not a moderate, no, no, a deluxe.

Way!

or the Polynesian

Wait...what's with this OR carp? LOL

The Poly...do I even need to list it's virtues at this point? Monorail, Tonga Toast, Volcano Pool, Zero Entry...

...Lapu Lapus...Tinkerbellarella...Lapu Lapus...

Help me, Obi Wan, you're my only hope! ...or Tinkerbellarella...talk me down! Save me! Save me!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Tinkerbellarella pleads the fifth due to the fact that her response will cost you your tax rebate check. And likely then some.

So my little peanut, who has been such a good boy, and is definitely very Croc worthy will just have to wait...as will I...obsessively checking Shoebuy.com through mypoints.com to see if any come into stock...by some small miracle, maybe it will be so...the force is strong with our family...I just know it is!:goodvibes

There's a Crocs store 3 minutes from where I'm sitting. If you need to, send me what you're looking for and I'll see if they have it and how much they are. Tinkerbellarella.com has free shipping. ;)

Today, I will be fufilling my curiousity and partaking of the delectable loveliness that is TONGA TOAST!!!!! :woohoo:

Oh how I wish that day was today. For me too. I tried pretending my turkey sandwich was Tonga Toast. Didn't work, so much.

I may even order a mimosa! :thumbsup2 I know, that's lots of sticky sweet going on all at once but who cares???

Too much sweet and sticky? NO SUCH THING, says I.

I miss my Granddad. He passed away when I was in high school, very suddenly. It was a heart attack, so none of us were emotionally prepared. I still think about him a lot. The other day my mom let it slip that she had heard of Tonga Toast before, because on one trip, my Granddad had wanted to try it. Apparently, folks, it's been popular for quite the time! So they scurried over to the Poly, and you know what? Sold out! Sold out of Tonga Toast! :scared1: To my knowledge, Granddad never got to try it. So I say here and now, as much as I joke about it, this Tonga Toast is for my Granddad, and all the great memories I have of him in general and at Disney.

I keep putting off the chapter in my PTR about my grammy, who first took me to Disney. I know how busy I am and I want to write that particular installment and get it just right, you know? She passed shortly after our second trip, some 16 years ago and I still miss her constantly. And no trip to Disney is complete without memories of my trips there with her.

Skittle Group Hug: :grouphug:

Well, I'm an auntie! I already had a niece, now I have two!

So I'd like to :welcome: my new 7 lb 7.6 oz, 20.5" long bundle of baby girl joy to our family and the DIS family! Ah...another princess in the making. ;)

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

Because what you all need to understand is that we fly Southwest, and we fly nonstop. That's how we roll in the TK family. Why change planes if you don't have to?

I hear ya, my friend. Which is why my travel dilemma is also killing me. So, I have come up with a plan. We shall commandeer a ship, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder and otherwise pilfer our weasely black guts out. Oh, and then sail to the World.

:flower3:

Connor's a gorgeous name:lovestruc , we love the Gaelic names, their meanings and stories attached to them:goodvibes

Funny. I experience this same thing. Only mine are feline. However, they too are relentless.
Sadly, I am allergic. Therefore, we live in a pet-free apartment. However, I feel one child is work enough. :lmao:

I just can't believe this!

...Lapu Lapus...Tinkerbellarella...Lapu Lapus...
Well, DH is becoming more versed in the fine arts of the DIS and my pre-trip report, but I'm just not sure I could convince him that one of the reasons we need to stay at the Poly is because Tinkerbellarella will be there! :rotfl2: Although, I think he'd warm up to the idea since my DIS friends have become normal topics of conversation. Although I prefer to use all your screen names. It's more fun to say Tinkerbellarella and 2ScottishPrincesses and other really long names just to confuse people! :rotfl:

Tinkerbellarella pleads the fifth due to the fact that her response will cost you your tax rebate check. And likely then some.
Mental note...do not ask for financial advice...;)

You are really sweet. Thankfully, I was able to procure the Crocs. Has that been one of my chapters yet? If not, see upcoming, I hope to update tonight!

Oh how I wish that day was today. For me too. I tried pretending my turkey sandwich was Tonga Toast. Didn't work, so much.
Yeah, although they both begin with T it's just not the same.

Too much sweet and sticky? NO SUCH THING, says I.
My kind of girl.

I keep putting off the chapter in my PTR about my grammy, who first took me to Disney.
I'm sure when you come to it, you'll do her justice.

We shall commandeer a ship, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder and otherwise pilfer our weasely black guts out. Oh, and then sail to the World.
:flower3:

Aye! :goodvibes

Thanks for joining on up! :cheer2: to you for wading through it all.

I can totally identify with your family situation. Thank you so much for your kind compliments on my family. Don't get me wrong, we have our moments, and days where I wonder, why, God, why me? ;) But all in all, I love them to pieces.

Kudos to you for extending the trip and MNSSHP! Costumes are so much fun. Halloween is my favorite holiday, you'll have to let us know what you decide on. And if I may interject a small opinion, I think you'll love Pop. It's an awesome resort, and you have plenty of time to stay at the Poly. I would love to be on monorail resort with my DS, but I don't think it's in the cards this year. Ah well, there's always my upcoming landmark birthday. ;)

When last we left...well, me...I was attempting to get over my mini :scared: about flight times and put the blame, I mean, ask DH for help.

Oh wise DH, night owl extraordinaire, lover of all things Batman, love of my life for whom I will eventually have to brave Universal Studios again...although I am looking forward to the new Harry Potter park, shhh, don' tell....where was I? Boy when I ramble. :lmao:

Ah, yes, oh wise DH, what flight should we take?

To which he replied basically what my exact feelings were, even though they :scared1: the living carp out of me. Why would we not fly nonstop just to leave at a later time, have to stop somewhere and get in later? And, why would we waste a whole day by not flying at :::gasp::: :scared1: 700am?

So there it is folks. Even though I did not book in the blitz of the 15% off ding fare because I fully anticipate that the rates will go down mid July as they usually do, we are pretty much resigned to the early morning flight.

I haven't done that since college. And let me tell you, it was a rough go then. Do y'all remember college? Let's just put it this way. I went to art school. Think all nighters in my studio, sleeping till noon, and lots of coffee from the local java joint on campus because you could use your food points there. Savvy? Also, let's just add to that the fact that I had mono in high school, and have always been a girl who appreciates my sleep. Ever since then I've need at least 9-10 hours per night. Yup. That's the joy of living with me. If I don't get enough sleep, I actually get very run down, and very sick. As in the past couple of days. I've been sporting a lovely bit of congestion/cough/sore throat/swollen glands that harkens back to my mono days. Which were also my slim fit jean days. Ah, I'll never see 120 pounds again...but I digress.:rolleyes1

So, we'll be taking that early morning flight. Which means that we need to at least be at the airport by 600am at the latest. Which means we need to leave our house at 530am (my mother will graciously drop us off, for which I will be brewing her a nice strong cup of coffee :) in our fav Pop Century refillable mug...it's still refillable for mom since I make her coffee every day she watches my son...it's the little things that count, people). Which means we need to wake up about 400am. Which means I'd need to go to bed the night before at 700pm. Which is totally ridiculous. I mean DS isn't even in bed by then. Speaking of the little nut, we'll be waking him at the last possible moment, leaving him in his jams, and if he's bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, changing him at the airport. If he's not, he can sleep on the plane. Although I somehow have the sneaking suspicion that knowing he's going to so Mickey is going to be a nap killer! :rotfl:

One of the good things about taking this flight is that I only really have to worry about breakfast and snacks on the plane, whereas with the midday non-existent non-stop, it ran into lunch and snacktime.

So day one needs to be rethought.

However, it will be simple.

Unlike the previous rambling I've done in this chapter. ;)

Originally we were getting in later. Now we'll be early. I'm guesstimating we'll hit the hotel sometime between 1100-1200. At which point we'll attempt to check in. If we're lucky, we'll be able to get a room. If we get a room, my master plan is to get DS some food and a nice nap. After which we'll head over to the lovely Magic Kingdom. Early! Earlier than originally planned. Remember I wasn't even sure if I was going to see this park today? Much less taste the delectable goodness of the Casey's hot dog?

But guess what, dear friends? Due to the insane flight schedule that Southwest now deems to be advisable, I will be getting my hot dog on the first night. Perhaps even a Dole Whip, too!

And all the earlier that I can book my little tushy over to Guest Relations and ask the all important question...

Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack?

If I can interject my humble opinion here, I think you will appreciate the earlier flight once you are in Magic Kingdom polishing off that Casey Hot Dog. Personally, I am an early riser and like to get things done ASAP.
We are waiting to book our flight after the wedding mayhem, my target is to be booked by mid July. Which makes my OCD kick into overdrive, but I am slowly adjusting. 7AM won't seem so bad when you are getting closer and closer to that magical mecca of Captain Jack.

I was never, ever, ever an early riser. Then I became a mother. 'Nuff said. ;)

7AM won't seem so bad when you are getting closer and closer to that magical mecca of Captain Jack.

Now that's the perspective I was looking for. I believe a little mantra is in order.

7AM Flight = One Step Closer to Captain Jack
7AM = One Step Closer to CJ
7AM = Closer to CJ

Ah, :cloud9:

:lmao:

I knew you would see the light! Just chant "CJ CJ CJ CJ" over and over and you will do just fine.

How old was your son on his first trip to WDW? I'm curious only because people at work today were saying a woman was nuts for bring her 4 year old daughter and I think that is a perfectally reasonable age. They just don't get the magic, me thinks.

I think that you will enjoy having an earlier flight, once you are up and at the airport. It gives you so much more time to enjoy being at Disney  !

Hold on to your Captain Jack/Dole Whip/Hot Dog dreams when that alarm goes off at 4:00. :)
