Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

Yeah, those DHs never mind the debts to be repaid! ;) I know Charles misses the trip planning! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

TK, you put it most eloquently when you listed the reasons for the trip -- just keep focusing on those when you buy those plane tickets! :scared:

:lmao: Oh, how our men must be soooooo sad when the vacations are over, eh?

I know in my heart your right. I was just so hoping that there would be airfare today, and there wasn't, and it was a huge let down. I can always hope for next week, but if there's nothing then, I'm really out of luck.

Hi everyone!

I have to get ready to head to work, but I wanted to mini update everyone.

I've decided to wait until Tuesday, and see if Southwest offers some kind of special. If they do, great, if they don't, I guess we'll have to take a look at all our options and make a choice.

My trip binder is coming along. I was able to get a nice zippered pouch at Walmart now that they have back to school items, and that's currently housing our MNSSHP tickets. I want to print the restaurant menus from allears, but I hesitate in case they get updated between now and Sept. Don't want to waste paper!

I've had a little mini shoe saga, but nothing huge. That'll become a full blown chapter once I see how it plays out.

Thanks for sticking with me, everyone!

In 2 months and 2 days, I will meet Jack Sparrow. In 2 months and 2 days, I will meet Jack Sparrow.;) ;)

Holy cow- it's going to be under 2 months before you know it!

Dagnabit! I meant to get one of those last night at Target. Boo. Hiss. Snarl.

Ah, mates.

The booking of the airfare. How it vexes me. It's a fine goal, to be sure.

A goal that could result in my insanity.

Oh wait...we're all mad here.

Which brings me to my other Alice reference.

This morning I trotted my self on over to the gym. Today is my new leaf. As in I'm turning one over. I'm not eating carp anymore. Not the fish, the acronym for...oh, you get it.

I'm done. I'm done preventing myself from losing the last five pounds with my self-sabotage eating habits. I'm done with thinking eating one more bite is okay when in all reality I'm full. And I swear, this is trip related.

So I've always been great at exercise and horrible at maintaining normal eating habits. So today was my new leaf day, and I was jazzed.

For several reasons. I work out a lot. And although the program was discontinued this year, I was able to earn a goodly sum that I put towards our vacation savings for working out and logging my exercise. I believe we discussed this before, savvy?

But what I neglected to mention is that I also got additional rewards by gaining those points, and I had to order my rewards before the program ended or risk losing them all. So before the beginning of July, I placed my order for two items. And one came a couple of days ago.

So this is love...doodoodoodoo...so this is love....

Ah yes. I am now the proud owner of an MP3 player. And before you laugh that I haven't joined the technological age of Ipods and whatnots, the budget just doesn't allow for that kind of stuff typically, and I really got into the swing of working out this year.

So, my happy little MP3 player and I had a little interlude with my computer this morning. Upon which my happy little MP3 player now contains the entire Magic Kingdom Special Events CD.

Oh yes, my friends. Because there's nothing like a little Halloween fun to get you jazzed for your work out. Although I find it very difficult not to bob my head back and forth in time with Boo to You while I'm on the treadmill.

Anyone else have these issues?

Anyone?

:::crickets chirping:::

Moving on. So as I'm getting on the treadmill because someone is already on the elliptical machine, I note something wonderful, something lovely, something actually interesting on television!

A Disney special on the travel channel!

Oh, were the cosmic workout gods lined up in my favor today. I had my Disney Halloween music, my Disney Travel program, and a desire to shed some pounds. All was good in my world.

And then it happened.

During my workout, and the travel program, they showed footage of the Wilderness Lodge. And I got the biggest Cheshire Cat grin you've ever seen in your life on my face. (Took a while to pull that reference in, but it was worth it, right?)

I saw the hotel, the pool, the lobby.

And I thought, I'm going there. And I'm going to enjoy it soooooo much!:goodvibes Which caused me to walk faster...and up the workout even more, as I was listening to my happy little MP3 player soothing me with irrevent renditions of This is Halloween and Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf...

:::sigh::: :cloud9:

Now, this is the music of choice in the TK family right now. So much so that the little nut has actually started singing it! This is huge to me, because he's really started getting into it and even if he doesn't know all the words, it is just the darndest thing to hear my little nut singing about heffalumps and woozles and they're very sly sly sly sly.:lmao: The kid was so cute the other day in the car, he had me laughing and clapping. Whilst driving. Which is no easy feat, my friends. Ahh, my little nut. :cloud9:

And while we're veering off topic, let's get back on and talk about our fine goals, to be sure, as there are several.

1. Procure airfare.
Hopefully this will be a done deal on Tuesday. Or at least some kind of deal....please? Airfare gods? :worship: :worship: :worship:

2. Comfortable footwear
Another vexing issue. Let's all offer some :worship: to the shoe gods. Since I've now ordered and exchanged Crocs, and am currently waiting on a pair of these bad boys...
crocs244350_137516_lg.jpg

Yup, I caved. I've been coveting them, and well, Tink did it!:rotfl: So we'll see how they work for me, I think they'll be here on Monday. Because truthfully, I'm a flip flop girl. They are my footwear of choice in the summer, and it's really what makes me comfortable. So I thought why not give them a whirl? Worst case scenario, they go back. I'm no stranger to returns.:lmao:

3. Clothes...what do you mean she bought more clothes?
Alright, you got me. But seriously, other than the white tank top I need to complete my pirate costume...I'm really done shopping for this trip. I swear...well...except for this...
DSCI0161.jpg

Now you all know how much I love you when I'm willing to post the WIDEST part of me on the internet. I absolutely love this skirt. I've wanted a denim skirt for ages, and I found one for a good price on...you guessed it...kohls.com. Basically it was just under $12, and since my shorts ran about $10, I figured that was reasonable. The best part? It's got a cute belt...I haven't had accessories in so long, and it's really a skort...but not in the traditional sense, it looks like a skirt all the way around, but has the shorts underneath for added coverage, and I LOVE IT! It'll prevent my...ahem...ample thighs from rubbing together and it's so darn cute for vacation. I haven't been this excited about a skirt in...wait...I don't think I've ever been this excited about a skirt.

4. The Trip Binder - it needs cover art. I'm just having a hard time deciding.
I'm working on it, I swear. I've added some things. See?
DSCI0165.jpg

See that's my new oh so fashionable matchy matchy zippered pocket.
DSCI0166.jpg

And that's my lovely list of all the fun activities at the Wilderness Lodge, and some that I thought sounded interesting at Fort Wilderness, too. LL, I think you might like this, I need to send it to you.

So that's my list for now. Eventually, we'll check some things off and add some other fine goals. Like packing lists and whatnot.

But I know you were all just clamoring for an update, so there you go.;)

Oh, and by the way...

in 2 months and 1 day I will meet Jack Sparrow...in 2 months and 1 day I will meet Jack Sparrow...and as I was working out this morning and had already done 30 minutes on the treadmill and was aiming for 20 on the elliptical and the last 5 minutes were just kicking my butt, I pictured Adventureland in my head...and a lovely meet n greet...and somehow those last five minutes didn't seem so bad...

What a great update! I thoroughly enjoyed every word of it.

*First let's bow down to the airfare gods. :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

*I love your denim skirt! So cute and with little shorts underneath, so practical.

*I am anxious to hear how the flip flops work. I am coveting a pair as well. Bad for budget good for tootsies. I did enjoy my MJ crocs while in bermuda but I think I would like some flippies better. And sneakers. My wallet just groaned.

*I so want to listen to this special events cd! It sounds wonderful. Your DS sounds just too cute. Is he excited for the trip? Does he know about it?

*Please send me the list of activities. I would love to take a gander at it. :goodvibes

Thanks! I think it actually de-emphasizes how big my hips are, because it's an a-line, so it fits the widest part of me and then just flows down very nicely. Can you tell I watch too much What Not to Wear?:lmao:

When I tried on the regular style Crocs, I actually loved the arch support, but my toes were hitting the upper part. I wasn't sure a size up would work and really wanted to try the flips.

Well, we talk about things in front of him, but we haven't said specifically, we're going. He really has no concept of time right now. What makes sense to him is today or tomorrow. And since that's a heck of a lot of tomorrows, we just don't get him real hyped up about it.

We probably will talk about it more a few days before as we start pulling out suitcases and packing because then it becomes real.:goodvibes

*Please send me the list of activities. I would love to take a gander at it. :goodvibes

I'll paste it into an e-mail.:thumbsup2

More :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: to the airfare gods!

Yay for MP3 players! I keep meaning to actually remember to take mine when I work out, because I know listening to music is supposed to help you move faster and be distracted so it doesn't seem so draggy. And when I've managed to remember it, it has worked so. Yet I'm still bad about remembering to bring it. :confused3

I agree with LL--DS singing along to the special events CD sounds too cute! Wish I could hear him!

And of course keep us updated on the shoe drama. Again, some of us are living vicariously through others' shoe drama. Hopefully you and Tink will keep me covered.

Although I do have a DSW $10-off rewards certificate that will expire in August, so I imagine I'll go shoe shopping before them. But it's not trip-shoe-shopping, so it's not as fun.

I've babbled enough on your PTR for now. I'm off to babble on someone else's. :rotfl:

Oh, I and my OCD like that trip binder a lot!!! :goodvibes

I really like those Croc flipflops that now you and Tink are going to be the owners of -- I am feeling left out -- perhaps if I just go look at them briefly at the crocs website...

Cute skirt!

I am glad you love your new MP3 player -- I love my iPod -- I would probably really love my iPod for workouts if I worked out -- which I don't -- but I might start someday soon because I have the tiniest beginning of a new obsession -- wanting to run the Disney marathon -- I know, I know -- there must be a cure for this Disney obsessed illness I currently have! :lmao:

Great update!

Now that I'm all caught I'm, I can write a proper post!

First, it's great to hear that you've turned a new leaf. A good work out aluways makes me feel better. Like you, my eating habits are the problem.

I LOVE the Crocs flip flops you ordered. So cute!

What a great deal on your skirt and shorts! Deals like that make me want to shop more. Does that happen to you?

Your trip binder looks great!!! I love the matchy matchy pouch!!!

I'm going to take a pic of Jack next month and post it for you!

Love the new denim skirt. It looks perfect on you.

Glad your enjoying your new mp3 player. I'm completely addicted to my nano. When the battery on my old mini went I had to cave and buy myself a new player nearly immediately. Soooo addictive.

I didn't even know they had a special events cd. Is the Boo to You parade song on it? I love that song and haven't been able to find it anywhere?

I'm done. I'm done preventing myself from losing the last five pounds with my self-sabotage eating habits. I'm done with thinking eating one more bite is okay when in all reality I'm full.

BORG. Only change the 5 to fifty and we're even.
Argh. I got on the scale this morning.
And I screamed.
And the scale screamed.
The cat meowed.
And I screamed one more time.
Blech.

Ah yes. I am now the proud owner of an MP3 player.

The ONLY thing that gets me through workouts.

1. Procure airfare.
Hopefully this will be a done deal on Tuesday. Or at least some kind of deal....please? Airfare gods? :worship: :worship: :worship:

Would the BF be a worthy sacrifice? He'll never know what hit him. ;)

Yup, I caved. I've been coveting them, and well, Tink did it!:rotfl: So we'll see how they work for me

If it's any indication, I've been wearing mine day in/day out since they came in. Just a warning, they seemed really loose at first, but I got used to it and actually like it. I recommend wearing them all over the house for at least a day before you make a decision.

I think it actually de-emphasizes how big my hips are, because it's an a-line, so it fits the widest part of me and then just flows down very nicely.

Wow, my trip binder is CP approved. I feel blessed.:goodvibes

Hee hee...look what we've started.

Cute skirt!

Thanks!

Great update!

I wish I could even consider doing a marathon, but I have a really hard time with distance running. I'm so much better on the elliptical machine, it's easier on my joints.

First, it's great to hear that you've turned a new leaf. A good work out aluways makes me feel better. Like you, my eating habits are the problem.

I LOVE my workouts. Even though I sweat profusely and look totally disugsting, I always feel two things afterward:
1. proud of myself
2. skinny! :lmao:

I LOVE the Crocs flip flops you ordered. So cute!
I have to sort of giggle here after seeing the shoe carnage on your thread!:rotfl2:

What a great deal on your skirt and shorts! Deals like that make me want to shop more. Does that happen to you?

That always happens to me. If I find a great bargain, I think hmmmm....maybe I need to look for others. :scratchin'

I'm going to take a pic of Jack next month and post it for you!

Oh, bless you. Bless you a thousand times. Please, please, please take a pic of the lovely captain for me...:cloud9:

Love the new denim skirt. It looks perfect on you.

Even headless?:lmao:

Seriously, thanks. I think it's too cute.

I didn't even know they had a special events cd. Is the Boo to You parade song on it? I love that song and haven't been able to find it anywhere?

Why yes! And ditto on Boo to You, I love the parade and the song. Are you planning on going to MNSSHP when you're on vacation? They only sell this particular CD at events like that or the Pirate & Princess Party.

BORG. Only change the 5 to fifty and we're even.
Argh. I got on the scale this morning.
And I screamed.
And the scale screamed.
The cat meowed.
And I screamed one more time.
Blech.
I've seriously stopped weighing myself. It's too depressing and I agonize over every little change.

Would the BF be a worthy sacrifice? He'll never know what hit him. ;)
:lmao: Poor BF.

That you like yours makes me feel good since we apparently have similar feet. Shocking, I know...;)
