Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

So glad you've been Disnefied and hit with the reality of the trip! :goodvibes And that the trip binder's coming together! :goodvibes And that you're feeling content, at least, with where you are now and flexible regarding whatever the future may bring. :goodvibes I'm just happy to hear the TK clan is in a good place.

Amazing what some time off from work will do, eh?

And in two months you'll be in an even better place. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Well...two months, 1 week and 4 days...but who's counting?;)

Amazing what some time off from work will do, eh?

Question: Am I the only one at work this morning? TK, if I remember correctly, you have today off. Tink is off. I think PKB is off. Of course CP is off since it's summer. :thumbsup2

So are there any Lapuettes joining me in the misery that is work before a holiday? And I'm hoping we'll be let off early, but the company has only done that once before a holiday that I can recall.

Edit: Oops, I'd meant to put this on the Lapuette thread. Forgot where I was! Sorry.

Don't worry about it! I think you may be the only one suffering, hon. May we :worship: to the corporate gods that you get out early.:thumbsup2

  I am so glad you are excited for your trip. It will be nice being there with just the three of you!

And I am so In for Lapu Lapu Fest 2009! :goodvibes

I am sooooooo excited about my trip, and Lapu Lapu Fest '09.

To the point where I don't know if I'm going to do the ladies weekend in Dec. I mean, the idea was so thoughtful, but I really don't feel comfortable being that far away from them. DS had a health scare (we're all fine) and it just really put things in perspective for me. I'd really like to see all of those wonderful Christmas things with my family, and I feel horrible about doing it without them. I think Lapu Fest 09 would be so great if I could turn it into our family vacation. That was actually something we were supposed to do this year, in honor of DH's as yet unspeakable birthday, and we would have been in the world on his birthday. But we scrapped it for free dining.

Oh, decisions, decisions.:headache:

I am here!!! I have been preocupied with the code that disney shopping sent me.

I'm so glad DS is okay! Considering how worried I get when my dog (well, the one who lives with my parents) gets sick, I can't imagine what I'd do with my children. :faint:

As for the long weekend, well, at least you have some time to decide, right? I wouldn't worry about it too much just yet. :goodvibes

I am here!!!

:wave2:

OH! I know some other ones, too, do you want them?

No thanks.... If not for techical difficulties I would have been spending a boatload of money.

I went to Walmart last night, because my mom told me that they had a lot of scrapbook stuff on clearance, and they must be getting rid of the disney stuff or at least getting new stuff, cause all the Disney stickers and paper and stuff were on clearance! Needless to say I spent a bit of money there...

So me spending money today was probibly not a good thing!

TK I think it's really healthy for you to go away for the 3 day weekend without DS. And I think it's really important that Dads be given the opportunity to be the primary care giver to our kids. I know with myself even when I not the one right there with DS, I'm still the one who is plotting his next meal, next activity etc. I even get his clothes out even if DH is dressing him. I think you should go....just my 2 cents for what's it's worth.

PS if you don't go will Mom and Nana take me????:rotfl:

Ahhhh...but you have the ability to change your hypothetical plans without having to go crazy calling various numbers and trying to secure ADRs and yadda yadda...hypothetical is fun...but I have been keeping my fingers crossed for you on the January hours. I know you're waitin'.:goodvibes

I want to try booking my ADR's next Thursday (and you had better believe I'm going to try every day until somebody lets me make them, I want to see if calling early can work!) . I'm going to have to call Disney and ask about the hours... I'm full blown obsessed now! I think I want to avoid the evening EMH for the most part so I want to book ADR's where there aren't EMH... but I'm going to have to go off this year's information at this rate. Bah.

I am here!!! I have been preocupied with the code that disney shopping sent me.

Ditto! I have 8 things in my shopping cart but I'm resisting.

.
If it's any help to you Disney pretty much followed the park hours and EMH schedule from 2007 for October and November 2008, they actually cut back hours a couple of night at MK. What are your dates??

Or as CP so aptly phrased it, "We're all mad here." :ccat:

But especially in the TK household. Because my Disney Shopping order arrived. Oh yes, it arrived. :woohoo:

I was :yay: and couldn't wait to open all my goodies.

And I did.

And then I tryed some on. Meh.

And I looked at the bag. :scared1:

And then I :rolleyes1 thinking maybe I was in a bad mood, somewhat hormonal and suffering from, I wish I was in Disney World right now! See, DH was supposed to work today, the grand ole fourth of July. I actually planned my work schedule around this, and didn't take this whole week off, because I thought, well, we won't be able to go on vacation anyway.

Right?

WRONG, my friends! His work for this evening got cancelled. Which made me happy, because he's here, but oh so sad...because I could have been in Disney World this week. I know, I know, spoiled, and selfish, and  , but we had actually entertained the notion of going this week so DH wouldn't have to miss work in September, DS wouldn't miss one of his first weeks of preschool (by the by, would you all keep your fingers crossed on this whole potty training thing because so far he's only pooped on the toilet once...:::sigh:::), and even though it was more expensive, it was something we were willing to consider because we've been there at this time of year before...granted it was our honeymoon, and actually not minded the heat so much. (Neener, neener long sentence award. Thou shall be mine!);)

So here I am, mulling in my thoughts. Ruminating so to speak, and very betwixt and between about the whole shopping order.

I won't post the pics again, but y'all remember the bag? Looked sooooo cute online. In person, still cute, but it has no structure to it. It's like a vinyl/nylon, and will basically take the shape of whatever you put in it. I am really, really hard on my bags. And I know you'll all laugh at me that I even ordered this one, but there's a very lovely D&B black tote sitting in my closet that I've never even used that would probably serve my purpose much better. Since it has structure. And is well constructed. And will withstand the tortuous trials I will put it through holding all my carp, like plans of attack and ropes and things.;)

So the bag goes back.

And the shorts. Oh, so flippin' cute! But on me? :sad2:

The problem is, I'm in between sizes. A medium is too snug for me to even consider being comfortable in public, and the large, even after shrinking in the drier is too big. So back they go. Alas, cute shorts...I knew you well...for about two days.

My :yay: was waning.

As a matter of fact, I was feeling a little :darth:

So I tried on the tank tops. Oh, the peril! Well, I'm definitely not a medium in those either, because if they shrank that'd be the end of it. I wasn't fond of the knotted top part on the yellow one, my bra strap is clearly showing and as a former VS girl, that's a big no no.;)

So I tried on the Cleo tank. Which was oh so cute. But the large was too big. So I tried to shrink it. And I did. And now it has crossed over my comfort zone. It's just not a fit I'm used to, much too high on the neck, and I feel like it's riding up in my armpits in a way that no tank top should. Sadly, the length was perfect. The graphic of Cleo...perfect. The comfor level. :headache: Doh!

So...it all goes back.

Oh, the drama. Oh the shopping horror! :scared1: Oh the money back in my pocket. Ooo, that's something to be happy about! Let's throw in some

Except that money in my pocket doesn't sit there for very long...especially when I finally figured out the 20% shoebuy code that only works today...and then went on Kohl's site, and perhaps found a little something else....

Ahhhh....to dream the impossible dream...

that'll I actually order something and it will fit/look nice/be comfortable.

Sounds nice right?

Then, I remember...

WE'RE ALL MAD HERE!!!!!

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: You know I love the "We're all mad here!" shout out!!!

That really stinks about all the new stuff :(.

Okay, I have to ask about something you said, "...as a former VS girl..." Did you used to work there or just wear their stuff? Because I worked at ol' VS for about two or three years before Chelsea was born...

Oh, I worked there! That was my first job in college. Then afterwards, I was an assistant director for a while, but it just wasn't for me. I ended up back at the Disney Store.:thumbsup2

That's too funny!!! Yep, I worked at a couple of stores including the Lenox Square Mall one -- I remember when it went from the old style to the Queen of Hearts style. I actually really enjoyed woking there, but, in the end, retail wasn't for me at all!

I always wanted to work at the Disney store which was right across the way.

Oh, that is too funny!!! At my mall, they were right across from each other!:rotfl:

I actually loved it before I went into management. It was a part time college thing for me, and I got so many free umentionables which was awesome then. I started off as a specialist, and I was one of the highest in sales. It's actually weird what you take with you in life, I can usually look at a woman and just tell what size she is. After you size so many, I guess it becomes familiar!!!:lmao:

That's so true about sizing! Sadly, I can't even shop there anymore because I balk at paying full price when I had that 40% discount before -- it makes such a big difference.

Funny story: for obvious reasons I don't tell my students about working there -- well, this year I had 7th graders read biographies of famous people and then they had to make puppets of the people they read about. Well, Chelsea and Connor would come across from the elementary school in the afternoon and sit in the back of my room and work on homework for the 30 minutes before my school dismissed. On the day that my 7th graders were presenting, one girl had done Tyra Banks and her puppet had the Angel wings on -- well, she's doing her presentation about being a model for VS and I hear Chelsea's little voice in the background say very loudly, "My mom used to work there!"

It was bedlam in my class for a few minutes. ;)

I ABHOR paying full price for their products. Especially since they changed the Body by Victoria line and as far as I can tell, discontinued my favorite. Huge bummer for me. I'm so glad I found those other ones for $14.99.

I commiserate with you on the lack of :yay: due to being between sizes. I have a "pencil" body type, which means I'm not as hipular as the average woman. Shorts and pants with a proper waistline often balloon out from my sides; next size up is too tight around the waist. Add to that being 5'9" and attempting to find jeans/pants that don't ride up to my calves when I sit (but strangely, I don't think I have the average leg length of a woman my size because some of the long.tall jeans are too long, don't hang right, and make me feel like I'm about to trip over my own clothing), and I can get  when clothes shopping wayyy too easily.

Happily, tops generally fit me better, as long as I don't have to worry about sleeve length. And if that fails me, there's always shoes. :lovestruc

I have a similar issue, in that in order to be accomodating enough for my hips, the waist ends up being huge. And then I get that lovely gap when I sit down...you know the one where the whole world can see your undies? Yup, that's the one.:lmao: And if I go to have it taken in, the seamstress usually makes it too tight for me to fit over my hips thereby reinforcing the primary problem. :::sigh::::

Happily, tops generally fit me better, as long as I don't have to worry about sleeve length. And if that fails me, there's always shoes. :lovestruc

Me too. I don't usually have an issue with tops, but you've seen all my shoe drama. Oy!:scared1:
