Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

But it's really unacceptable to go around DisneyWorld in your skivvies, savvy?

Not that we haven't seen some things...ahem...

Moving on!;)

Today, the UPS truck pulled up to the apartment and I thought, that's odd...

I made returns to Shoebuy.com...'kay, returns don't equal UPS truck pulling up.

Haven't ordered from Kohl's lately, trying to cut back spending...UPS man ringing the doorbell...

Hmm...

TK was confuzzled. Happens a lot lately.

So DS ran down to see what goodies the UPS man had brought us. What goodies indeed! I totally forgot about my binge order unmentionables from you know where having a rather large semi-annual sale. I used to work you know where, LONG time ago, and I have my favorites. Suffice it to say some of my unmentionables were old...as in, I purchased them at Target after I stopped nursing and everything finally went back to normal...so they're three years old...and they were cheap...and they're...ahem...lacking in support.

I was in dire straits ladies, and definitely needed new unmentionables. Not to be confused with The Untouchables...although somedays...:lmao:

So, said package arrived, DS went back to eating his dinner, and I went to try on.

Big bummer. They discontinued one of my favorite styles, and I thought I'd found something similar, but no dice. :::sigh::: I did however find the same style I'd purchased one of last year, and it has become my second favorite. Supportive, mostly comfy, and great fit.

Now, the discontinued style I thought I'd found was a whopping $29.50 a bra...we won't discuss how many I needed, it was scary.:scared1:

However, since they don't do me justice...tee hee...we'll be returning and exchanging for the second favorite style...which cost...

drumroll please...

$14.99!!

Woo hoo! Unmentionables at $14.99 a piece!

So I'm exchanging big time, baby! And getting four umentionables and a little over $50 credited back to my happy Disney Visa. Add to that the fact that once these babies arrive, I'll have in my posession 8 good unmentionables for vacation...

You do see where this is going right? How that whole concept of my doing laundry on vacation is going to get thrown right out the window? Slowly, but surely my friends, I amassing a wardrobe...an eight days in Disney wardrobe...we'll see whether or not I'm able to swing the eight days completely or if the laundry fairy will strike!

And now that we've discussed my undergarments for far too long, my friends, let's saunter over to the world of my budget for this trip.

I had a great plus to the vacation savings today. I work out pretty much four times a week. And my health insurance provider has a program where if you log your workouts, at least 30 minutes per day, you can earn points. Get a certain number of points in a certain time frame, and you're eligible for a pay out, either to your health savings account, or as a direct deposit if you don't have one. I don't have one. I carry the most expensive, best coverage my employer has to offer. Why? Because if I'm going to work for health insurance, folks, it's going to be good.::yes::

So, today, I was the recipient of a $500 reward for all my exercise efforts. See, sweat is actually worth something...amazing isn't it?

So that $500 just made a little transfer into the vacation savings, which made me feel good, because for the most part, our trip is covered.

I know what it costs for my free dining package. I've estimated our airfare, transportation, gratuity, and mousekeeping expenditures, and so far I've got a surplus of about $120. I hear the pre-pruchase photopass cd calling my name...

I know we'll save more between now and then, what with my increase in hours at the bank, and DH's consistent weekend work, so I'm not worried about the seeming lack of souvenir money. Plus, we have some rewards racked up from our Disney Visa, so that'll go for that as well. And traditionally, we don't spend a ton on souvies...we just like having the option, if that makes any sense.

So I feel we've all arrived at a very special place here...spiritually...ecumenically...gramatically...

...Okay, so I used all of today's wit on envisioning Chelsea's wedding. Sorry. :confused3

::yes:: My health insurance does something similar, only it has to be with a gym and I have to prove I spent the money on it. And I only get $150. Oh well. It means I should be able to get a Wii Fit when my check comes. :thumbsup2

Hurray for vacation being all paid for! Those are the best ones--where you can just enjoy yourself and not worry about the cost. You, DH, and DS are gonna have a blast. :goodvibes

Wow...Jiri out of wit...it just doesn't seem possible?:confused3

The only reason I'm going to prepare for this eventuality is because I have a three year old. 'Nuff said.::yes::

Truthfully...and I know you're all going to look at me askance because I talk like a crazed budget lady...

all my trips are always, 100% completely paid for in advance.

Because with all my pirate treasure hanging around, I like to make sure things are taken care of.

But seriously, I've been blessed in that although I know how to spend coughcoughWILDERNESSLODGEcoughcough, I am very good saver. And I have dipped into savings to go on vacation when I think it's worthy.

Because doesn't everyone go to DisneyWorld once a year?;)

Wow, MP, I just went back to Chapter 22 to see what point you're at...suffice it to say you've got some BIG surprises in upcoming chapters! Have fun! And I think I have some more advice for you on traveling with your little nugget. I'll try to catch you on the Lapuette thread. BTW, have I ever told you I think Liam's adorable? What a cutie!:goodvibes

I am so happy that TK has found her unmentionables but the real question I have is....do pirates wear unmentionables? Seems very un-pirate like to me! ;) Hehehehe. Just kidding!!

I totally forgot about my binge order unmentionables from you know where having a rather large semi-annual sale.

Ooooooo. Unmentionables are on my 'Favorite things to buy list'. Which goes a little somethin' like this:
1. Disney trips
2. Shoes
3. Books
4. COACH
5. Sephora
6. Unmentionables

Now, the discontinued style I thought I'd found was a whopping $29.50 a bra...we won't discuss how many I needed, it was scary.:scared1:

Well, my favorite type of unmentionable from VS is a whopping $44-$49 each. And I don't know if they'd be part of the sale. Hang on...

Nope. No go for Tink and her rather, erm, loud and proud girls.

HOLY CARP!!! This is SUCH a better deal that what I've got!!! I only get reimbursed up to $150 a year (like Jiri). Heck. If I could get $500 for working out, girl you KNOW I'd be living at the gym. BF who???

Kidding about the BF who part.

Mostly.

So I feel we've all arrived at a very special place here...spiritually...ecumenically...gramatically...

Totally one of my favoritest lines from PotC ever.

Oh, the $50. How well I used to sell those. Before I was a manager, I was an unmentionable specialist.::yes::

Oh, I am very very lucky with the $500. However, it seems that the program is changing, so I'm not sure if this will hold true for next year. Ah well. Only time will tell, eh?

I'm surprised that shoes don't feature more than once???

No. Because if one were to quantify numerically exactly how far above everything else the shoes are using a bar graph, it would be obvious. And perhaps a bit "over the top".

Oh, the $50. How well I used to sell those. Before I was a manager, I was an unmentionable specialist.::yes::

I am not ashamed to admit that I'm a Secret Embrace snob. :snot:

I bought some shorts today! Which are shorts for the summer but also shorts for DisneyWorld.

I was mucho mucho excited by this purchase...however...I have learned my lesson. Which I sort of knew...but chose to ignore...not all shorts are created equal my friends.

I tried one pair on, and then selected three other pair, same size. Thinking they would fit the same.:lmao: Foolish TK.

So only one pair really fits. Ah well. The other three go back.

But one pair is good, eh?

I think so. My vacation wardrobe is slowly building. From what I currently own that I plan on taking, I'm up to two pairs of capris and now three pairs of shorts. So technically, I only need three more somethings to make my eight day no laundry quota....:::Sigh:::...why can't anyone have any really good sales?

Speaking of which, my mom has already received her fall catalog to one of the major department store chains. It's not even July yet, folks. Fall catalog. WHERE ARE THE SUMMER SALES????:lmao:

No. Because if one were to quantify numerically exactly how far above everything else the shoes are using a bar graph, it would be obvious. And perhaps a bit "over the top".
:lmao:

I am not ashamed to admit that I'm a Secret Embrace snob. :snot:

You know I've never tried those. Now I'm interested since you mention them because I know...from your...ahem...descriptive writing...that you must need supportive unmentionables. Do you like them for work all day?

Oh how much finding we try to do in the pursuit of planning our trips, eh?

Finding of information, finding of ADRs, finding of plans to accost our favorite pirate...ahem...

and last but certainly not least although I am quite sure there are more things to be found in regard to said trip, we must certainly consider all that is near and dear to a woman's...and some men's...hearts. ::: phew::::lmao:

Clothes.

That's right, clothes. Who amongst us here does not LOVE to purchase new clothes for vacation? I know I do. And I usually wait until the end of the season sales, and I will for certain items like plain old tank tops which are certain to decrease drastically before the summer is through thereby enabling me to get several colors of my choosing without having a highly negative impact on my wallet, savvy? (HAH, Jiri! That longest sentence award will be mine again.;) )

So, I've had a in itch.

An itch that can only be scratched by Disney Shopping. I've been on that site several times in the past few days. Always looking at the same items...over, and over, and over again. And telling myself not to spend the money. To be responsible. :confused3 :rotfl2:

Well, today, I opted to throw repsonsiblity out the window if only for a brief period of time.

Now I would think at this point in my trip report, you're fairly well versed in all that is...well...me.:thumbsup2 So suffice it to say it's highly probably that some if not the good majority of these items will be returned if they are too big, too small, a weird color, aren't as pretty in person...etc, etc, ad nauseum.

However, that being said, I am a little jazzed about my purchases.

And about the oh so savvy way in which I purchased them.

I hunted, my friends. Hunted for coupon codes the way our good ole Captain would hunt for some rum.

And I found a slew of them that I deemed to be mildly acceptable, including: 15% off, 2 Free Wall E Tickets for a $75 purchase, and Free Shipping with a $75 purchase when you use your Disney Visa.

Savvy?

Those were looking pretty good. But truthfully, the boy and the man...hee, hee...DS and DH have plenty of clothes. I know, sounds funny right, but between my mom and nana, they both have so many Disney/Superhero/Fun tees, there's really no need for me to be spending more. Truthfully, DH tends to wear the same shirts to Disney every year, and they're shirts that he loves. I've also coordinated some of what I purchased for DS this year so that on some of our days there, they can match. I love it when the men match. I think it's adorable. So, back to the origianl point before my little digression, the boys in my life have plenty of clothes.

I...well...okay, you found me out. I have plenty of clothes too, but I like new ones, dagnabit! I could probably go on this trip without having to purchase anything...but...I really, really would love some new outfits. And as I'm writing this trip report, I'm feeling even more Disney about my clothes than usual, kwim? Now, I own a plethora of Disney tees, but of late, I'm more of a tank top girl. Especially in September Disney weather. It's tank top weather for me.

So here's some of what I found:

These shorts:

yellowshorts.jpg
blueshorts.jpg

These tanks:

ldtank.jpg
cleotank.jpg

And totally superfluous purchase but oh so cute I really hope it looks as good in person Tink aren't you proud of me this bag:

mickeytote.jpg

I really like the walking shorts. I'm on the fence as to whether or not they look good on me because I have wide hips, but every time I've tried a pair on they are soooooo darn comfortable. How can I ignore cute Disney ones?

I love the Love Disney tank because...well...you get the idea. Plus, if you recall from prior posts, my DS is in love with yellow. He has this awesome WTP tee in yellow that goes great with his Crocs, so I thought if I got my yellow on we'd be one happy looking family. Kind of like these guys.:dance3:

I love the Cleo tank because it's different. I like it when they include non-traditional characters in their merchandising. And I think it would be fun to wear to Epcot for our Living Seas with Nemo/Coral Reef day. Even though that's almost hypocrisy. But I'm willing to go for it. Since the boys will be wearing matching Ninja Turtles.;) Because we're just punny like that.

And the bag. Oooo, the bag. I never, ever purchase new bags. One, in China last year, and it's my fall purse. Nice green color, so pretty and it wasn't their typical style (I have a ton of those too) so I loved it. We won't talk about the huge amount that I have already, and how I actually barely if ever rotate because my mom one year for Christmas got me this aboslutely gorgeous medium blue color D&B purse that I love and take everywhere with me like it's my pacifier. (Still working on that sentence thing.)

But this bag looked so cute. It said, buy me, TK. Buy me. You can use me as a carry on on the plane. Put fruit snacks in me for the boy. I'll hold your favorite paperback. Take me home!:cloud9:

Now all these purchases did not $75 make! However, I am smart. I am savvy. I am TK!

And I am usually in between sizes...ahem...

So I doubled up. I ordered all the shorts and tops in a medium and a large. They're all cotton and bound to shrink, and it's been so long since I've ordered from Disney Shopping, I truly have no idea what size I'm going to end up being. Once, I did that, plus the bag, my order was easily over $75. Which meant free shipping, and free Wall E Tickets.

How stoked am I?

I know I'll be paying a bit to return some items, but hey...two free tickets to Wall E!!!! And I know what I'll pay to ship my return back will cost less than what those tickets would have run me, so in my fuzzy Disney math, it's all good, folks!

Super excited about my purchases! And free shipping! And two free movie tickets! Now when we go to see Wall E, we'll only have to pay for one of us. And, to beat all, a movie theater near us does $6 tickets all day on Tuesdays. I feel like this guy :yay:

And this guy :cool1:

And why not throw in some of these for good measure...

Because I think my prowess does deserve a dancing banana.

Boy if that's not a taggable line I don't know what is.;)

So, I'm happy with my purchases, and hopefully they'll fit, and I'll have some cute new clothes for vacation. I'll keep you all posted.

Savvy?

Now I'm interested since you mention them because I know...from your...ahem...descriptive writing...that you must need supportive unmentionables. Do you like them for work all day?

I L-O-V-E me some Secret Embrace. It's like a pretty (albeit expensive) hug for the girls. I am SO not a fan of underwire and how positively uncomfortable it feels after 10 hours of wear and the girls, well, the girls aren't publicly presentable without underwire and since Secret Embrace takes care of BOTH issues of course I buy them in bulk, usually get 4 or 5 from my momma in multitudinous colors for Christmas, my birthday and Easter (yes Easter) and so now have a collection large enough that in monetary value it would pay for at least half of a Disney trip.

(Bring it, Jiri.)

So, I've had a in itch.

I think they make a lotion for that.

These tanks:

I AM proud of you!!! I have oft coveted this bag myself on Disney Shopping but have yet been able to justify said purchase, particularly after the most recent COACH purchase for the trip.

But this bag looked so cute. It said, buy me, TK. Buy me. You can use me as a carry on on the plane. Put fruit snacks in me for the boy. I'll hold your favorite paperback.

I am excellent for carrying your favorite pirate everywhere!

BF and I just got home from seeing this. LOVED IT.

Oh, I've been eyeing those shorts as well, but I was nervous about how they would fit. Please let me know how they fit when they arrive!

And I was also eyeing the yellow tank top, but I have SO many tank tops, I had to pass it up. I'm jealous!!!

Wow. You must really like them to have devoted that WHOLE BIG SENTENCE TO THEM.

(Bring it, Jiri.)

That noise you heard was the passing of the gauntlet.

Love the Cleo tank!!
This one I'm definite is a keeper.

Well that just goes without saying. Seriously, I'm hoping this bag is as cute in person because truthfully...what with the potty training and DH home all week on vacation...there's a LOT LOT LOT of testosterone in my house right now. I need something pink.

I can't believe I just said that. My room was pink when I was little and later I went through a whole absolutely under no circumstances anything pink in my life phase. I'm more of a blue girl. But have recently transitioned to green. Although I love all colors. I'm a painter, I don't discriminate. That being said, not all colors look good against ye fair Irish skin.

Where was I?

Ah yes. I need something pink with hidden Mickeys!

BF and I just got home from seeing this. LOVED IT.
I can't wait to take DS. We're hoping to go Tuesday.

Oh, I've been eyeing those shorts as well, but I was nervous about how they would fit. Please let me know how they fit when they arrive!

I will totally let you know about the shorts. Although I believe by having seen some of your photos I am much more...how shall I put this delicately...ample, shall we say, in the hips and rear. It's where I carry my weight sadly, it always was and it's only gotten worse now that I've had my DS. Ah well. I've finally gotten to the point where if something is cute, I'm at least going to try it. I read somewhere recently that if you particularly dislike part of your body, it may help to accentuate it. It's possible you'll like it, receive positive feedback, and it'll make you feel better about said part. I think it's worth a shot anyway.:goodvibes

Love the new purchases. The T's look like they will be nice and cool. Very cute!

I'm going to have to go and check out the Secret Embrace collection. Lately I've been fond of the Dream Angels, but they are a bit warm for the summer time.

Wow...Jiri out of wit...it just doesn't seem possible?:confused3

I know. Me running out of wit is a scary thing--the Earth tilted on its axis, the planets all aligned, and my dog (the one who lives at my parents house because a good apartment dog he would not make, though house sitting at my parents' has reminded me of how much nicer it is to have a pet around, and so now I'm thinking I might have to try to swing some sort of apartment pet that is a mammal, not a fish or [eegads] a bird, since I've got that bird issue now, and besides, mammals are much more huggable than birds, and if you hug a fish you'll probably kill it) started speaking in tongues.

And I usually wait until the end of the season sales, and I will for certain items like plain old tank tops which are certain to decrease drastically before the summer is through thereby enabling me to get several colors of my choosing without having a highly negative impact on my wallet, savvy? (Bring it, Jiri.)

See above. ;)

The tanks are very cute, though. And free WALL-E tickets are so worth it. That movie's definitely going on my to-buy list when it comes out on DVD. And then it will be on my to-buy-again list whenever I manage to get BluRay, or whatever will end up surpassing BluRay.

I got printer ink!

Y'all know what that means!

There's going to be reams of paper running through my printer tomorrow printing off all the fun things I've learned here.

And hopefully a chapter to follow. Stay tuned.:happytv:
