Will pro sports still be a thing in 100 years?

Pro sports? My question is will College Sports be considered pro sports in 100 years and get paid for playing. 30 games college games on TV yesterday on my Dish.

Hard to imagine they won't - what's on top will likely change, with basketball and soccer getting more popular in the US at the expense of football and baseball, but when one considers how the amount of money that media outlets are willing to spend on pro sports continues rising at such an unbelievable clip it would seem that nobody sees a decline on the horizon.

Sarcasm or real thoughts?
Soccer is the fastest growing team sport in the U.S., with over a 50% rise in fans in the last 10 years. it wouldn't surprise me one bit if it becomes the most popular sport.
But will pro sports still be around? Possibly... but the cost of going to a game has just become astronomical. I don't see how the pricing is sustainable.

Me, sarcastic????! :teeth:

I suppose soccer will become more popular. Whether it can topple American football is anyone’s guess.

After going to yesterday’s Championship, I might be tempted to attend in person next season. And I’ve had an every 4 years casual interest since 1994.

Welcome to the Disboards. I’ve said that several times about soccer but not many seem to believe me.:welcome:

I think the cost to play the sports will determine what becomes popular.
