I was thinking of eating dinner at Crystal Palace on our MK day. DS will really have no interest in the characters. I know we won't do autographs and I don't know if DS will pose for the pictures, he really hasn't been into characters lately, (the older he gets, he thinks that's for younger kids). So, what do you do if you don't want pics or autographs. I don't want the characters thinking we are being rude.

(It does make me sad, when he was younger, he loved the characters and I have some of the cutest pictures. Now, DD still loves the characters and still gets her picture made with them, but she won't be with us this time)

Nah, Pooh and gang are too loveable to be upset :goodvibes. They will still come around to your table and when they do, your DS could just simply give each a high five or acknowledge them some other way. There is no rule stating that you have to take pictures or get autographs in or to eat at any of the character meals. Have fun, the thing I like to do with the characters is start a conversation, asking questions that they can shake their heads yes or no to, give compliments, anything that allows them to react without them talking...of course a huge hug always comes afterwards ;).

Hi, I do miss those days when the characters came and my children got all excited and I got great pictures. But now that it is mostly just my DH and I we l either take a pic with just one of us or wave and say HI as the character comes to our table. They are good at knowing if you want them to stop or just move on after a quick hello :) Joan

My DS lost interest in the Pooh characters at about the same age. His mom however is still in love with them. LOL!!

Eeyore is my all time favorite character. I get pictures with all the characters. Much to my son's dismay. Because everyone knows that it is a mom's job to embarrass her oh so cool 15 year old son. LOL!!

Seriously though, Pooh and company won't be offended. We always just take a pic of each character and say hi to them. Except for Eeyore. Who mom has to get a picture with everytime. LOL!!

My DS was complete drama suggesting that he'd hate Crystal Palace on our trip when he was 10 (at 12 too? hmm, am I mixing them up? gotta find the pictures). Anyway, first character comes and goes with him staring fixedly at his plate while my DW has a big interaction. Tigger comes by and things start changing. By the time it's over, we have to discreetly chase down Winnie because that was the first one that came by that he ignored.

It was awesome. :goodvibes
