We're going in October and the in-laws are coming with us. It'll be their 40th anniversary so we giving them this trip. Does Narcoossee's sound like a good place to celebrate at? It'll be my, DH, in-laws and my 3 little girls. I want somewhere kind of fancy where the food and amotsphere is good. Any advice? Anyone ever ordered a cake to be delivered to Narcoossee's? Thanks!:goodvibes:goodvibes

I celebrated my 16th birthday there and they made me a personalized menu. I would think this is the best place. A nice atmosphere. Quiet restaurant and GREAT view of wishes. It could be a very romantic place. Not many/ hardly any screaming children. If you mention a special occasion they will treat you even more special. Food is also wonderful as well. It is also fancy. Sundress, khaki and polo attire. Definitely no suits or anything, but for Disney, its fancy. I love Narcoossee's! best place at WDW

YES! YES! YES! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We celebrated DH's 40th birthday here last year and loved it. We are taking my parents on their 1st ever Disney trip the 1st week of December and Narcoossee's is on the agenda for us. I can't wait to eat here again. You can even order a cake from the GF bakery and since it's a special event they will print up keepsake menus for you to take home. DH's say "Happy 40th Birthday" at the top. They're cool!

YESSSS!!!

I agree with PPs it's definitely a wonderful restaurant. They do give you personalized menus and it's just a wonderful, gorgeous restaurant. If you ever thought about ordering a cake for your celebration (they aren't that expensive either) you really should order it while dining at a GF restaurant. The bakery there is wonderful and very delicious... and they will only do cakes for GF guests and diners at GF restaurants.

Wow! Thanks for the great responses!:thumbsup2 Now I feel certain that my in-laws will love it. I had no idea you could get personalized menus! They would really treasure something like commerorating their anniversary with us. How do I go about ordering a personalized menu? Thanks for the cake ideas too! I've heard good things about the GF bakery so it'll be perfect to have a cake at Narcoossee's then! Don't ya just love a good plan??:goodvibes

We went to Narcoosee's for the last night of our honeymoon and it was a great place to celebrate and reasonably romantic. Be sure to get a later reservation so you can see Wishes and there are less children around. We sat at the table in the second row of the bottom tier of the restaurant directly diagonal from the castle and I'm convinced it was the best view in the restaurant for Wishes. The tables directly against the windows get blocked when people go outside on the deck. One really cute thing Narcooseee's also does is the personalized menus with a "Happy (whatever) message, Mr. and Mrs. Whoever". I thought they made cute keepsakes.

To answer your question about cakes...we have had two beautiful cakes delivered here...one for my birthday and one for my son's. The first time went off without a hitch. The second time, I had to remind the waiter. There was some confusion of some sort and finally the order (and the cake) were found and delivered. Just be sure to check on any cake orders at the podium when you arrive and/or with your waitperson.

Have a great time - you will love it! This is a must do for us each trip now.

Narcoossee's is our favorite WDW restaurant! :goodvibes

It's not at all fancy, except for the food. It's not a place where anyone gets dressed up for. Yes, they ask for "resort casual" (no flip flops, tank tops, etc...) My DH wore golf shorts and a golf short, I wore a nice top (my GF bling top actually! :rotfl:) and capris. I think it's perfect for children, they will not be out of place at all.

The service is fantastic. It was my birthday and I remarked to the waiter I couldn't wait to try the almond-crusted cheesecake. At the end of our meal, he brought it out (no charge) with a candle and Happy Birthday written on it. :goodvibes

Since it's your parents anniversary, you could order a GF anniversary cake. They resemble mini-wedding cakes. The cake gallery has photos and more details.

Hope you have a wonderful meal there!

Thanks! It sounds perfect. Ooooh, a GF bling top? Gotta get me one of those!:thumbsup2 Thanks for the positive review, I was starting to panic a bit when a previous poster above basically said it was terrible and not worth the $!!:scared1:

For upscale casual it works great!

Thanks! I'm sure the in-laws will love it, especially if I have a delish GF cake brought over. :goodvibes

First off, Narcoossee's is our favorite restaurant in all of WDW! We love it there. We always go, however this past Jan was our 1st Anniversary trip, and we chose Narcoossee's to celebrate our anniversary dinner at.

As always, it was excellent! The food was so fresh and delicious, the service was out of this world, and we just love the atmosphere there! We even had personalized menus with Happy Anniversary on them waiting for us when we were seated. I did have the CM notate it was our anniversary when I made my ADR's. But, I did not know we were going to get the nice personalized menus, that was a pleasant surprise. They also provided us with a special dessert, it was a very lovely evening!

I don't understand when people say it's noisy. To me, it's no more noisy than any other full-capacity restaurant.

I would much rather have someone screaming in my ear at a full capacity restaurant than a dead silent restaurant with hardly anyone in it... I would only think, why isn't anyone here, is there something I should know?

And to the remark about it being hardly better than a Red Lobster I couldn't disagree more. I strongly dislike Red Lobster and there are absolutely no Red Lobsters that have MK and Cinderella's Castle in the background, nor do they pipe in Wishes music and I have never heard of almond-crusted cheesecake at ANY Red Lobster.

Thanks! I'm VERY glad to hear this! I want this anniversary dinner for my in-laws to be special and I think Narcoossee's will be the place!:goodvibes

I'm so glad this was posted! DH and I are celebrating our anniversary this year and chose to do so at Narcoosee's. I'm definitely going to check out the anniversary cakes! YUM

I was going to ask about this same restaurant!
My DF and I are getting married in September and I thought Narcoosee's would be the perfect place to celebrate! Sounds much better than California Grill.

Because it has that view of Wishes, you can reasonably expect kids anytime before the fireworks begin. It is NOT a quiet ,romantic restaurant by any stretch. We've had some good meals there and a few poor ones--those mostly due to poor service.
As Scott Joseph suggests, the noise factor is enhanced by the wood floor and the relatively high ceiling. The main thing Narcoossee's has going for it is LOCATION.

We are celebrating my parent's 40th this fall and I have decided we don't want to do CG. So, I am debating between Narcoose's or Citirico's. Between those 2 what do you guys think? I definitely want a place with a more adult(quieter) atmosphere and good food for the money. I don't want to spend the money for V&A, but would like someplace a step up from the rest of the Disney restaurants. Are these 2 places worth the out of pocket prices?

Citricos is probably the better bet. More quiet to be sure and I like the food better as well.
