I bought a new van last year. It has a really cool touch screen panel that controls the radio, DVD player, Satellite radio, etc. It came with a free year of Sirius radio and backseat TV. The panel is Sirius brand.

This is probably a dumb question, but if I don't pay to continue the Sirius service will the panel still work with the regular AM/FM and DVD settings?

I never used the Sirius stuff enough to want to pay for it.

Thanks in advance!! :goodvibes

Yes. You just won't have access to the satellite radio portion.

Thank you! I am still deliberating whether I should just suck it up and pay for the satellite radio, but it is pretty pricey and I don't want it to cut into my Disney funds. :rotfl:

I have it and I love it; however, I do spend a good amount of time commuting to work and I got tired of so much chatter. If I didn't drive a lot, I probably wouldn't have it.

Rumor is they are this close to bankruptcy.

Wow, thanks for the heads up! If I had signed up I would have paid for the year in advance so I definitely won't do that now. :goodvibes

you know there are several tier packages right?
You dont have to get the most expensive one.

I have the lowest a la cart package that is just $6.99/month. That price package lets you choose 50 stations. Although that does NOT include premium stations like the howard stern channels, sports bundles, a few music channels all of which I didnt really want to listen to anyway.

I didn't know that - they only sent me info on 2 packages - $13 a month for just the radio or $20 a month for the radio & TV. I would do $7 if Hits One is included - I'll have to call them.

I wonder if only those packages are available due to the type of radio you have...hmmm

I just did a look at the sirius site and it looks like you do have to have a radio that is a la cart capable.

Yeah call them and see what they say.

Let it lapse for a month & they will send you an offer for 4 months for $20. I got 4 months of the Sat radio & backseat Tv for something like $38.
