Will my kids miss the slide if we stay at RP?

Hi all. We are currently booked at the PBH with a great rate for club, but with financial concerns we can stay at the RP for less. We like the tropical feel over the PBH but are unsure of the pool at the RP without the slide. The kids love the slide! Will the atmosphere of RP outweigh that fact? Is the pool overly crowded since RP is such a large hotel?

Also, we are a family of 5 and I know sleeping at the RP will be much more "cozy" than the PBH. But for a savings of more than $100 a night, I think we can manage. Any opinions?:)

RPR pool is busier but it is the largest pool in Orlando. It seems like the kids are having more fun there. The volleyball games include all ages and there is a water cannon play area. You can always pool hop to PBH or HRH. We have done that from RPR without a problem.
5 will be cozy at RPR. I can't get my kids to sleep in the same bed together without killing one another.
I'd save the $100.

Thanks Motherfletcher, I know what you mean about the kids sleeping together. I will take an air mattress for the 3rd child and lean it up against the wall during the day. We are actually staying for 9 nights, so with this savings it's a little more than $1000. I was really looking forward to the more quiet pool at the PBH, as well as the slide, but don't think the extra $1000 justifies it.

Any other opinions welcomed.........thanks!

I think you can use all the pools no matter where you stay - at least at Universal.

I would go for the savings (wow! $1000 is a lot) and stay at RPR. We love RPR and the whole tropical feeling. We have visited both HRH and PBH pools while staying at RPR. The kids love the slides, but they both agree that they like RPR pool the best. It is so big and like Motherfletcher said, there is always a volleyball game going on that anyone can join in on. They always meet other kids there too and have a great time with the water cannons.

DD took a friend with us once and we used an air mattress for DS. He slept on it next to the window. We leaned it up against the wall during the day and it was never in the way. We didn't feel cramped in our room. We were just careful to put all our bags and stuff away in the closet or in the extra space where you first walk in the door.

Save the $$, that's a lot of dinners at Margaritaville! We've never stayed at the other resorts so I don't know how the rooms are but I've never felt cramped at the RP. The resort is just beautiful and personally it is my favorite out of the three plus if your kids miss the slides you can just go over to the other hotels to use the pools, we have done this too a couple of times.

We just returned from PBH and we pool hopped to both RPR and HRH no problem. so stay at RPR and pool hop. All you need is your room key:)

We are a family of 5. We have stayed at both HRH and RP. I didn't think we were any more crowded at RP. And if you stay at any Universal resort, you can visit the other resorts' pools and amenities. So you could still walk to the HR or take the water taxi to visit their pool.
