on a Saturday morning, around 9:30-10 am? (Specifically Nov. 5)

I never thought much about it until reading another thread. I'm guessing at that time there will be plenty of cars available, but I'm not sure...

How about for reserved? (We reserved one minivan and one Emerald Aisle.)

Do people really make a mad dash?? Or is that only later at night?

Not sure, but can't you make an Emerald Reserve reservation for the car you want to insure that it will be there? I thought you could do this and then go right out to the car like the Emerald Aisle?

I have read that EA is re-stocked LATE at night or EARLY in the morning (but just what what I've read, perhaps someone else could give their opinion on this) so if you arrive around 10 am hopefully there will be plenty to choose from.

I am wondering if there will be larger cars and maybe even vans available on EA due to the high price of gas. I know we have a 15 day rental and will doing a lot of driving and am going to encourage DH to pick one of the most fuel efficient cars on EA.

I wouldn't say a "mad dash". Flights are coming in constantly and there is a steady stream of customers to National. It's not like everyone's flight arrives at the same time and everyone is running to get there first.

Yes, that's true. We have one Emerald Reserve, a minivan, and one Emerald Aisle.

We don't really care what we get for the EA one, but another thread was saying the Emerald aisle was totally empty, and then they were told to pick from another aisle, but then charged for the better car, etc. The other thread also mentioned not having the car you reserved (which would really stink, because we do need the minivan.)

I guess I'm worrying too much....

The last time a rented at EA at MCO there were no cars late at night. Yes, they tried to charge me for the SUV, but to head them off I called the reservations number to complain about no cars at EA and made them document my record that I wouldn't be charged. With that on the record, no up charge for the nicer car. Just make sure you call and let them mark your record.

The most irritating part was having to walk back to the counter to get permission to do it with two sleeping kids and wife left in the parking garage. Inability to proivde the service you reserved (contracted) with them doesn't mean you have to pay more for them to meet their obligation.
