The Artist Palette has great food though....better than the Value food courts. I also love the atmosphere of the SSR food court (if u want to call it that) much better. So much more relaxing ! The value food courts (and even the mods) can be a zoo most of the time.
We switched to SSR too! I dont think we will be disapointed.
I found the All Star buses very crowded at closing time. We always had to wait a long time at the end of the day. It was easy to find the Music bus stop for us because it was always the longest line!
SSR has to be better than that. As least it should be.
The extra room we will have will be awsome!
King size bed! privacy too!! OMG
kitchen - coffee and blender!
balcony- still cant smoke but thats ok?
If the food court is a little more expensive we dont care. We have the free dining too!
I hate to wish away the summer! I cant wait for Sept. I know it is coming fast already!
You got VERY lucky. You were one of the ones that got the free upgrade, right? I didn't get the upgrade, but did manage to get an exchange through interval. That's how I get SSR. I'm in a studio. You have a 1BR I take it. VERY LUCKY! Good for you! Enjoy your vacation.
And don't forget there's Artist Pallet which is just before the Turf Club. It's opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you can get something "quick" there. It's a self service restaurant, but if you in a hurry it's not bad. In that same area you can pick up groceries, drinks, personal items...etc.
You wouldn't regret it but depending on what room you get at All Star, the room at SSR may be a little smaller. As previous said, the Artist Palette and the Turf Club are places to eat and may be a little more expensive. There is no proper food court in the resort. The busses were excellent. We missed a bus but within a few minutes another came along and we had it to ourselves and we were told about the history of it and facts about the resort by our driver.
I would recommend it!
We stay at SSR most of the time, and can say we only had any bus issue...1 time and that turned out to be not a scheduling problem, but rather a driver got sick while driving and it took dispatch a few minutes to get a replacement bus on the route. The Most I hear is that people using the Shared bus for pops, movie etc, complain about all the stops and the overcrowding. You don't have that at SSR except for the last bus from the parks after closing. Aren't all the buses crowded then?
I think you got a great deal with the DDP and the SSR Deluxe resort over the value resorts. Let us know what you think once you get back!
Im not sure. I went in 1999 to All Star so the rooms are vague but I think there is differnet sizes? Im not sure but now I think you are correct.
Is 350 the size of a studio?
Another plus with SSR is you have more amenities such as a microwave
Believe me you won't regret it. We stayed at AS Movies June 7-9 and were very disappointed. Altough I have never been to SSR, I can't imagine it would be less enjoyable than the All Stars. Now if you want nightmare buses, stay at Ft Wildreness, I think all of the others are a breeze.
I believe the rooms at SSR are bigger than All Stars, even the Studio.
Yes, well I didn't take into consideration the Suites because the OP stated that it was just the OP & one 5yo child. I assume they were only getting a regular room at the All Stars. Another poster mentioned that the All Stars room is bigger than SSR...no way.
