Will I love Ft. Wilderness???

Just switched from DTD DoubleTree to Ft. Wilderness Cabin. Thought we would move closer in. I did not know enough about the resort to request a specific location. Did I do the right thing???????

I think you'll fall in love with Ft. Wilderness. It is the best campground I have ever stayed at. We were there this past February. Stayed in the preferred section in a motor home.

The cabins are a little farther from the marina area, but they have internal busses that run very frequently or you could rent a golf cart. That sure looked like fun.

It's very pretty and peaceful. The Trails End Restaurant is excellent (and the best value on property). The petty zoo, beach, water rentals, barn with the horses that work at Disney, and, of course, the sing-along with Chip and Dale followed by a movie are all wonderful.

Have a great time, you won't be disappointed.

Good morning & hello from the Delta!

If you will be at FW for a week or more, you might want to check on AP rates for the cabins to see if it would be worth buying the AP. I did and got a great rate for June. My family adores FW, and my 16 y/o twins refuse to stay anywhere else! Have fun!

I think you'll love the cabins and Ft Wilderness. Its such a nice quiet break from the parks and you'll get the kitchen and housekeeping services just like a regular resort room. I think you can reserve a golf cart ahead of time and I think there are also off site places to get these too.

I would say that the bus service that Disney has from their resorts to the parks is worth staying at a resort alone. No worries about parking, paying for parking, and remembering where you parked. My wife and I were talking about how we would never want to have a car down there. We took a town car from the airport to the resort. The driver dropped us off for about 30 minutes to grab some groceries...so that was helpful as well.

JUst got back from WDW on sat 5/22 and stayed at POFQ, I went to FW for the Hoop Dee Doo (great time) and I so missed staying there, my family(there was 8 of us) were all saying we should have stayed there (we have been several times as you can see under my sig) thats not to tkae anything away from FQ we had a great time and loved the resort, we just missed the atmosphere of the campground.
