Will I lose my ADR's if I move offsite?

I'm booked to stay at WL for 9 nights with my family in August. I am all ready for 7am May 7, when I will call make my all ADR's!!!!!

I may have a slight change in plans, however, as a friend may make his condo available to us instead. I'll find out about that in June, and if it pans out, I'll cancel my ressies at WL.

My concern is that under the new system, if I cancel my resort reservations, will I lose my ADR's as well? :confused3

If you make your reservations using the 90+10 they are tied to your Resort reservation and if that is cancelled all your dining reservations will vanish.

If you do not use 90+10 they are tied to your telephone number and they will stay on. But then you will have to call 90 days or less for each dining reservation.

Since I believe ADR's are still transferable, can they be transferred before cancelling the resort reservation?

This is not correct information!! Your dine reservations will NOT auto cancel with your resort reservation!! They may be "tied" together BUT they are made in 2 different systems!!

Is this true? Because my travel agent stated otherwise... just wondering for myself as well...

When I made PS I explained to the CM pretty much the same situation your in (thought may be changing plans), and they told me the PS is not connected with your resort reservation. Tho they still asked for the confirmation # (I guess to initially check to see if I was in the system to be eligible for the +10?)

There has been a lot of information, and quite a bit of confusion with the new system. However, IMACM posted that this isn't true. They are a Dining CM, so I am going to trust them that they're right with the inner workings of the new system.

I changed from a resort to offsite in November and there was NO problem.

Now I'm even more confused! :confused3 It seems that until at least recently, your ADR's had nothing to do with your resort reservations. Evidently, Cheshire Figment is saying that's changed, and now if you cancel your resort reservations, it takes your ADR's down with them?

Do I understand that correctly?:confused3

I think it's possible that he made a mistake regarding this. IMACM works directly with the dining system on a daily basis and has always given us very accurate information about everything regarding reservations. What's allowed and what's not allowed. If they say that this will not affect your reservations, I'd really trust them.

Thanks! I think that clears it up (hopefully!)

Mine were NOT canceled as of 3 days ago
I had an on site reservations - made my ADR's at the 90 day point and 15 days later I canceled my onsite to stay off site. I was specifically asked if I needed to be transferred to dining to cancel and I said No and asked if they would be automatically canceled and he said NO. I called the next day and they were still active and was just told to remember my confirmation numbers. I will check again tomorrow

I too wondered if my ADR's would be cancelled. I was afraid to ask because I was afraid of the answer. IMACM...thanks! You have set my mind at ease!

I've made ADRs and then changed resorts and have never lost my ADRs. I sure hope they don't change this. I'm subject to upgrade me resort at any given time and I would hate to lose all of my ADRs if I want to give disney more money.

your ADRs are not tied to your hotel reservation. Anyone, staying anywhere, can book ADRs for Disney restaurants. People who live in Orlando can book restaurant ADRs. The only reason they ask for the hotel confirm # is to verify that you're eligible for the 90+10 booking. But the actual dining reservation is tied to the phone number you give them, not the hotel confirm #.

My son was booked for a Disney resort in May (as are 2 other rooms for family members)...and son had booked all our family dinner reservations in his name, using his confirm # to get the 90+10 bookings. Then he got a chance for a free room with a friend, so if he cancelled his Disney hotel he'd save a boatload of $$$. When he was trying to figure out if the free room offer would work out alright logistically with the family vacation, we checked directly with Disney Dining before he cancelled...they said hotel has no effect at all on his dinner reservations. We asked again when we actually called back to cancel the hotel reservations on a 2nd call. And then on a 3rd call a couple of weeks later to change one of the reservations, no problem...all our ADRs were still in place.

I'd just be really careful with this. I think under the new computer system, things are more closely tied than ever before. And what held true in the recent past may not continue to be true under this new system!

The CM who is posting to us that it will be ok is a current Disney Dining CM, and works with the new Dining System. :goodvibes
