I never get him one because he is terrible about losing things.Won't he have to show the key to the lifeguard at SAB,or will they allow him in when I show mine? TIA :sunny:

He will need a card for SAB. When we were there last August, we had to show a KTTW for each family member entering SAB- my sister had to run all the way back to the villas to get her kids cards.

He will also need a KTTW for EMH nights, the cards are scanned before a bracelet is given.

My sister doesn't trust her kids with a KTTW so she keeps them in the safe in the room when not needed, and when needed, she holds them. I keep all of out KTTW cards together in my camera bag.

Just keep the kid's key with your own. That way you don't have to worry about him losing it.

You could also just ask for the card to be invalid for charging. Then no harm, no foul if it is lost.....just another trip to the front desk which he could make with you.

If you let him know you trust him, he night surprise you with his level of responsibility. One thing that worked for us was having a spot in the room where the key was placed upon entering. At the DVC resorts this is particularily easy in the 1BR and up because there is the little table or shelf in the entry. He might feel very good about himself when he gets a pattern down whatever that may be.

Our son wears his key around his neck on a lanyard tucked inside his T-shirt. This kid could lose his pants while he's wearing them, but he's never lost the key.

That's my son.He lost his gameboy and 18 games that he had in a carrying case this week.Yesterday I went to pick him up at a friends house after work and he comes to the car wearing his rollerskates! He couldn't find ANY of his shoes! That reminds me ,I better call his friends mother before she calls the authorities :lmao:

We only had to show one KTTW card at SAB for all 5 of us, but that was mid-January. I did notice back in May that they wouldn't give one guy in a large party an EMH bracelet because he didn't have his card. although I did notice people getting on some attractions without the bracelets.
