will I be too hot in capris in June? should I go with all shorts?

I wore capris the entire time for my trip last July. I am "always" cold, so I wasn't the least bit uncomfortable.

I wish I were that way. I am usually cold natured, but we go to Disney every year at the end of May/beginning of June, and some years I have sweat dripping from my forehead when we first get into the part. So, I'd have to say, shorts!

One year in June we flew and arrived at Disney by noon. I wore capris because we left home at 4:00 AM and it was chilly at that time of day. We took ME so we went straight to the parks when we were dropped off at the resort. I was so hot I thought I would die! The problem was not so much that I had on capris but the fact that they were made from a thick material. I had them rolled up and I'm sure I looked ridiculous! If you like capris, just pick very thin, loose ones.

We went last June and it was record breaking hot! So shorts everyday. But we have been there other years during June, and capris were fine. Just go with what you are comfortable in.

I was in Disney the first week of July last year, and I wore capris every day. I find shorts uncomfortable and chafing, which makes me much hotter than wearing capris of a light material.

I usually wear capris but mine are made of very thin, light material. Strangely enough, my knees and nose are most prone to burning no matter what kind of sunscreen I use. Besides I hate my knees to be honest.

I think you'll be okay as long as the capris are lightweight and breathable. If you can pair them with tank tops or sleeveless shirts even better.
I HATE my legs from the knees up, so I wear very few shorts anymore. I do fine in humid Indiana summers with lightweight capris.

For our trip, this May/June, I have two sets of active wear capris, two knee length summer dresses (with lightweight shorts for modesty sake) and two pairs of longer shorts. I've never done dresses at a theme park before, but I'm hoping this will be a comfortable alternative to shorts.

I would bring just one/two shorts in case you do have an issue with the capris (you can always do laundry). I plan to do this for DH. He is accustomed to wearing jeans in a very hot workplace with no A/C, so insists he'll be fine in his jeans for this trip. He loves our hot and muggy Indiana summers and hates to be cold. BUT, it boggles my mind how JEANS can be comfortable, so... I'm going to pack a couple shorts (just in case) that he can wash and wear if the jeans are too hot/irritating. :thumbsup2

The capris protect my legs from sticking or being burned by rides or chairs.

I figured that the six or so inches between long shorts and capris wasn't going to be the deciding factor whether or not I was HOT.
I agree with both of these comments. I always wear capris too for these very reasons - I'm more comfortable and it's not really going to make me hotter.

I wore both when we were there in August. Guess it depends on the material they're made of. I think I typically wore them in the evening though - after we had gone back & cleaned up & went out for dinner then the parks.

Probably..But that is all I wear and I manage just fine and I am there in August and September

Wear the shorts -it's hot in June. If you feel uncomfortable in shorts, then line or very light weight material for the capris. it gets really hot!

Capris here. We've gone in May the past two years, and as long as they are lightweight, I find them very comfortable. Bring both and switch em up!

The one thing I don't understand are skirts - I've seen lots wearing them and DISers above recommending them but I can't imagine - chaffing, climbing in and out of rides, and getting wet on the rides and having them stuck to your legs! Not sure how they work, but some people like them.

I wear capri's mostly for the comfort of others. You just don't know the blinding effect of my winter white legs. :goodvibes But by the time we got back in September I have a teeny bit of color so its shorts. I honestly don't notice a difference in my comfort level in capri's vs shorts, its hot either way.

Put it this way....we're going in June and although I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Disney with all my heart...I'm dreading the heat. I NEVER wear tank tops because I am large busted and feel very uncomfortable. However, we went a few years ago in the beginning of September and I wore a tank top EVERY day!!! When it gets hot...the only relief seems to be taking a walk through the shops that are air conditioned. We're planning on rope drop entry until about noon and then resort breaks until evening just to avoid the heat!

Well, I'm a sundress-at-Disney girl, so maybe I can explain. I find wearing a dress or skirt far more comfortable than shorts. I tend to wear skirts and dresses that are a bit longer and flow a bit, so the air circulates, and I stay much cooler than if I was wearing shorts. I also tend to have more of a problem with chafing in shorts, having that material in between my legs; in a dress/skirt, it isn't a issue. In a dress, there is no waistband to deal with, which tends to be more comfortable as well. Since the skirts are longer, I don't have a modesty problem getting on and off rides, and usually tuck the material between my legs during the rides, to keep it from flying up. An additional bonus is I usually take dresses that have a built-in bra, so I don't have to wear a regular one, and that is so much more comfortable in the heat! I know it doesn't work for everyone, and to each his own, but for me, I stay much cooler in a dress or skirt than I do in shorts.

I wear skirts with bodyglide. That takes care of the chafing. I'll also wear my running gear since it's made of wicking material.

It will be hot. I'm not a short kind of gal though, so I wear my capris. Shorts at my age and weight just don't work well for anyone. :rotfl2:

June+Florida= too hot for any amount of clothing really, but since nudity is frowned upon inside the World, I would recommend shorts.

Evenings can sometimes cool down a bit, but not enough for pants. I would save the capris for after sunset.

:rotfl2: I agree. We went the second week of June last year and we were ringing wet within 2 hours of arriving!! (and we did EMH)!!

Capris all the way! I've been in AUGUST and wore the Capris and I don't think I was any more uncomfortable than I would have been in shorts - but then once you're in the oven... Maybe if I were 15 years younger, my answer would be different :)

Because I absolutely hate my legs, I wear lightweight pants that I bought from Old Navy. And yes, in early to mid June. But I wear tanktops and itty bitty shirts with it. I wear small, lightweight T-shirts on rainy or overcast days. Of course, I'm the type who has to bring a sweater any time we go to a restaurant. I get cold very quickly.
