Will I be able to get to a 8:05 CP ADR using Disney Transportation?

This is the first trip we are not going to rent a car to try and save some money, so my question is, will we be able to get to our 8:05 Crystal Palace reservation using Disney transportation? I've read that the Disney buses start up about an hour before park opening, but even if we were on the 8 am bus, that wouldn't give us enough time. Any chance the buses may start picking up guests before 8 am?

I usually would just get a taxi, but we're traveling with an 18 month old, so I assume he'd need to be in a car seat, which we will not have with us.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Bus do start earlier than 8, but they are not as frequent so I would think you should be at your resort bus stop by 7am. Where are you staying, if at an MK area resort you have other options like the monorail.

Yes! Just know how long it takes to get from your resort to the Magic Kingdom by Disney bus and add an extra 15/20 minutes just to be safe then arrive that early to the bus stop. We've made a few 8am reservations at Crystal Palace and we've yet to miss one :)

I wouldn't think it would be a problem as we have gone to ADR in the MK before the park opened.

And I LOVE your picture! Really adorable!:thumbsup2

I am hoping to make an 8:05 ADR for CP as well! Last year we barely made it from the WL. Took the boat launch to CR then MK. That ride took FOREVER! Ack! This year, we are at POR, so you better believe we will be at the bus stop by 7:00.:thumbsup2 We'll see what the kids think about that! Ha ha!

We always have the 8:05 CP ADR on every Disney trip.

Yes, buses do run early for character meals. We are always at the bus stop by 7:00am and never had any problem with getting to any early character breakfast. Usually we have plenty of time too, but rather be early than late!

Agreed with everyone else. We've had a few early morning reservations and the only key is making sure that you are at the bus stop way before your reservation time. If you are there 20-30 mins earlier than you would normally be headed to the bus stop to get to the park you'll get on a bus with no prob!

We had an 8:05 am ressie at Crystal Palace in Nov. We were the only ones on the bus from YC. Had plenty of time to spare. I'm not sure what time we got there for the bus but I think around 7ish.

Early morning buses from resorts to parks start by 6:30. They do run a bit less frequently than the regular buses. So, if you get to the bus stop at 7 and the bus is leaving, you may have a longer than 20 min wait until the next one comes along.
The buses to MK sometimes start around 6:15ish. For an 8am ADR, I would be out at the bus stop no later than 7, and probably by 6:45. That way I would be sure to not miss the bus. As someone already mentioned, it's better to be early than worry about being late.

Thanks everyone! We are staying at POR, and I've had less than stellar resort bus service there (granted that was years ago), but good to hear we can catch an early bus. We will be out waiting by the stop at 6:45. The one good thing about having a young toddler is that it is never hard to make an early ADR, he is the cutest alarm clock! ;)

Honestly? No...spend the $17 and grab a taxi....we have done this many times and every single time we rely on Dis buses we are always late and that is when we have been waiting at the bus stops as early as 6:30 am!!

We now take a cab and it will let us off at the entrance for the buses right across from the CR parking lot.

MickeyNicki- do you know if my son (18 months old) would be allowed in a taxi without a carseat? I'm not sure on the laws in the state of FL, but I know in VA he would have to be. I would usually be all about the taxi, but I'm afraid that it wouldn't work with a toddler.

We had an 8:10 reservation for CP and did not use Disney Transportation. We drove our car and parked at the TTC. Mistake. The resort monorail system was supposed to already be running and the express didn't start until 8. However, they were doing some sort of maintenance and we didn't actually get ON the monorail until about 8:05. We were a few minutes late and they took us right in, no big deal.

The lesson is don't count on the monorail that early!
