ice crean desserts

I really hope that the parks and hotel have sugar free ice cream and desserts. I am not sure where we will eat each day so it would be hard to ask for special diet treats when I am not sure if we will be at a particular place on any given day.

I will appreciate any information or tips that you can give me.

Without advance notice, the restaurants will do their best to accomodate special dietary needs, but it is not guaranteed.

I don't think I've ever seen sugar free ice cream on a menu, and very few list sugar free desserts. It's possible that they will have the ice cream, but I wouldn't count on the desserts without advance notice.

If you have specific dietary needs, you really need to plot out a dining schedule, make advance PS's, and call the restaurants in advance to make your needs known. Otherwise it could be very difficult to have a satisfactory dining experience.

My DN is hypoglicemic ,so, we went thru this on our last trip. .At MGM there is an ice cream place across from TOT and they have sugar free vanilla ice cream. Also, if you are staying at the All Stars, ASMu also has the sugar free vanilla at thee food court. At AKL ,Boma and Jiko have a delicious sugar free cheesecake. We did make PS there and had the special diet noted ,but, we were told that they always have some in case someone has special dietary needs.Needless to say the cheesecake was DN favorite dessert. If you are eating at Boma ,I have to warn you,Chef Ken told us that 99% of the food contains sugar,so, he made DN a beautifully presented special meal.Hope this helps!!

I don't need a sugar free diet, but I really LOVE the apple cobbler dessert at Hollywood Brown Derby. It is on their regular menu. It is apple cobbler, with a few cranberries in it, all the crunchy stuff on top, served warm with a scoop of sugar free vanilla ice cream. MMMMM....yummy!

As a side note, I think most WDW restaurants have some sort of sugar free dessert on hand just in case, eventhough it may not be printed on the menu. You can also get sugar free pancake syrup at any WDW restaurant.

I did notice sugar free deserts at Chef Mickey's dinner buffet

If you go to this site http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/dining.asp and look through the many reviews and pictures you will see photos of all of the sugar free desserts that they have had.

Most of them need an advance notice (24 hours). Kona cafe has a sugar free apple cobbler but it comes with ice cream that isn't sugar free.

Beaches and Cream has a sugar free vanilla shake.
