We are scheduled to leave on February 6th. We ALWAYS put down the deposit then pay at the 45 day mark.

Unfortunately, this year, we are building a house. We were suppose to be in by January 13th but that has not happened and now we may need to rent a house..UGHHH..

We really dont want to cancel our trip because at this point we NEED to get away. The only problem is, we wont have the extra money to pay off disney until about the week before we are suppose to leave. We have the SPD package..

Has anyone had Disney work with them right up to almost arrival?

Usually if a package isn't paid in full by the 45 day mark, Disney will send you an email stating the balance due and the date is must be paid by, which is usually no later than 30 days prior to arrival. If the balance isn't paid by the 30 day mark, the reservation would automatically cancel due to non payment. You can call Disney and explain your situation and see if they can/are willing to do anything, but it might not be possible to extend the payment date that long. Good luck.

This is totally correct.

They offer a grace period up to 30 days, and I've seen people get away with a day or two past that if they are waiting for a check in the mail or something.

But a week before arrival is something I am 98% sure they won't wait for. If they do it for you, then they have to do it for someone else, then someone else, etc. For a tragedy, maybe. For house building delays, super doubtful.

You might want to try booking a room only and cancelling your package (you'll have to forgo the dining plan if you have one) or lowering the number of tickets. You can take off the DP as well (depending upon the special you are using) and put it on up to a few days before you arrive.

Yeah, we took off the tickets so we could at least pay for those at check in. Im going to have to figure something out cause I REALLY dont want to cancel!!!!

Do you have/need the Dining Plan?
If not, your room only reservation won't need to be paid in full until you check in. Then you can buy your tickets when you get there.
The only time you need to pay 45 days before is if you have a *package* (tickets and Dining Plan) -
I am guessing since you took off the tickets - you have a *room only*?

why not put it on a credit card and then pay the credit card when the money comes in a week before the trip ?

If you will have the money in the end, I'd also go the route of room-only and then adding everything else back on as soon as you can pay it.

Good luck on the trip and the new house! :thumbsup2

If you have a Disney Visa you have 6 months no interest financing on a vacation package. I do think you need to book the package with the Visa but you can always call Chase and see if they'll honor that for the balance.

I dont have a credit card. Something I gave up years ago. Looks like we will be rescheduling. Im so heart broken!

Well, it does stink. But you're building your dream home! When it's all done, and you've moved in and get settled you can go on a celebratory trip :cool1:

It's never fun rescheduling - sometimes it stinks being an adult!! We rescheduled 2x before we finally ended up on February 2013. Definitely feel your pain!
