Does anyone know if Disney Visa Cardholders will have access to January 2014 discounts prior to Ocober 8th? Or will it be like the last discount where there was no early DV discount? Thanks.

I've been waiting for it too! Checking several times a day. Is there a 'regular time of day' that Disney releases it's deals? We'd love to have access the deal before it's released to the public! One of the reasons WHY I got a Disney visa!

This type of information doesn't surface in the leaks. Most people assume that Disney Visa holders will get in 3 or 4 days early, and in most cases they've been right. However, after the last round of free dining I leaked as August 1st, most people assumed it would come on Monday July 29...and it didn't happen. It was only the second time in recent memory that Disney Visa holders did not get in early. It was released on August 1st as said, but nobody got an early shot at it.

So, it may happen or it may not happen. If it does, it would likely happen on Thursday the 3rd...and don't worry, people on here will call just to see and everyone will know about it immediately. In fact, if it doesn't happen, some people just keep calling everyday to make sure. :confused3

Thanks for the reply. I'm kind of new to all of this and started reading the board a few months ago when we decided to take my daughter this coming January for her 5th birthday! I had read about the possibility of early discounts and signed up for the disney visa a few months ago. We are so excited but I am anxious for discounts to come out so we will know our total costs for this big trip. We already have plane tickets to arrive January 4th. So from reading this board I realize that since discounts wont start till January 5th we will have to do a split stay for the first day the 4th and then apply the discount to the rest of our trip. My question would be when I move it to a package and technically to two reservations will this effect dining reservations that have already been made? The reason I ask is that we booked CRT at the 180 mark for my daughter's 5th birthday and I dont want to risk anything happening to that reservation. Thanks again.

I'm surprised it only starts Jan 5. The AAA discount starts Jan 2 and I got about 20% off my deluxe price.

Anything new?

There is never a confirmation for a Disney Visa release, but if it happens it should be Thursday. People are calling each day already just to check, and that's fine...it's how everyone will know.

Oh, and the DV release is by phone only, no online bookings for that one.

If you remember the fall release, there was only a public release and online bookings started at midnight. A lot of folks making new reservations got a big head start, while those needing to modify existing reservations had to wait until the phone lines opened at 7am.

What kind of discounts are we talking about here? (perks up ears) Package, or room only, or something else? I don't care about free dining. Is this the kind of thing travel agents have been in the habit of letting their customers know about? Should I tell mine I have the Disney Visa? Historically, how much have the discounts been? Thanks for the patience with a kind of newbie question.

Irony is getting the $200 DV offer in the mail the night before rumored discounts are released... Only you just got the DV (with lesser offer) a month ago. Doh!

Oh well, come on discounts!

I would. So they have it on file.

It's been predicted to be a package deal. A good TA will notify you and should have asked when you booked anything Disney with them if they have a DV.

There are two offers that will be available.

One is the stay play and dine, which is a package offer. If you pay rack rate for your room, you get your park tickets and dining plan at a child's price. There is a minimum stay of three nights with a max of 14 nights. There is also a minimum one day park ticket required.

The second is a room only discount, which is self explanatory. The percentage discount varies depending on which resort you book.

DISNEY VISA DISCOUNT IS OUT!!

Just got off the phone and applied discount to my current reservation!!:cool1:
