What does everyone thing about this winter? Do you think Disney will offer this package again? I am hoping to also get the $200 gift card as well this winter. I think the economy may be worse than last year, so I dont they they will be able to offer anything less than last years promotions. What does everyone here think?

No way to know till it is announced. The 4/3 is not offered every year, but due to the economy they may. Before 2009 the last time it was offered was briefly in 2003 and before that right after 9/11.It is not something Disney really likes to offer , but they have to to keep up occupancy.Stay tuned.

I even doubt there will be a special pincode for a chosen few for this 4/3 offer. This is a rare deal to begin with; it's not a common deal offer.

Last year for this time there was a Disney Visa offer for fall and winter to get free dining that came through Disney Visa and that offer never even went out to the general public. This offer had never happened at that time of the year before. We took advantage of it and I was very happy with it. There were block out dates, but it still was very good. I was shocked by the offer.

Current special pincodes are going out in grooves for free dining right now for that time of year. The typical stategy for Disney is if the special pincodes get good results it's likely the deal will go public if they do it. There are reports from the UK that they already have a free dining offer for the fall and winter supposedly.

I would love to be wrong and I'd rather have the 4/3 deal myself, but I really don't think it's likely.

I have a Disney Visa and we're planning on going to WDW the week of May 1st. How would I go about getting one of these pincodes? Is it just sent at random?

And by the way...when exactly will the 2010 calendar open up?

Thanks all!

Special pincodes like 15 numbers/letters long are a marketing tool. It seems when you sign up and register for everything Disney it generates these codes randomly. You do this when you register for their site. It will ask you if they can send you advertisements and you need to say yes, here. It seems what works best is going to the vacation planning section of Disney's site and coming up with some vacation scenarios and saving them. If a survey pops up, then take the survey; because, this seems to increase your odds of getting this so-called random special pin code. Signing up for the vacation DVD has been reported as a good way to get these special, well desired codes, too.

There are public codes to watch for as well. Disney Visa may do an offer and Disney may do a public offer. The public offers have been very good this year due to the economy. These codes are usually three letters long.

If you watch the posts here on Dis Board in this forum you will get a clue as to what public codes are being offered and if anyone is getting a special code lately.

In answer to park schedules they usually appear 90 days out; so, May 2010 should be available in February 2010.

Very informative Bete...thank you.

I've got a few quick follow ups though...

Would working with one of the Disney travel agencies (I've used one particular company two years ago) easily net me one of those public codes? Or do those agencies not even get the best deals out there?

And to clarify my booking question...I'm not too concerned with the actual schedules of the park but what I'm interested in is the vacation packages. Currently if I go on the WDW website I cannot book anything for May 2010. When will I be allowed to do so (and of course see the new rates for the week I'm hoping to go)?

Thanks again!

I would say (only a guess) that the new resort rates for next year should be up by the last quarter of this year.

I asked a Reservations person when the new rates would be out, since we too are planning a 2010 trip, they said the 2010 rates should be out in August. Others have said the first sunday of August is historically when the rates for the next year come out, some say mid august, so it's a toss up.
