Will changing size of party from 5 to 4 jeopardize my ADRs?

We are headed to Disney on Sept. 16th. Among the people in our group are my brother and his girlfriend. My brother and his girlfriend split up last week ("for good" I'm assured). So, this reduces our group from 5 to 4. If I call Disney to modify my party size, will this potentially cause me to lose my ADRs? I'm wondering that since the jump from 4 to 5 usually involves a bigger table (unlike jumping between 3 and 4), that they'll force me to rebook back to a smaller table (which, at this late date will probably not be available). Should I just sit tight with my existing reservations, and just tell the host/hostess at each restaurant about the change as we check in for a meal?

Edit: Oops - meant to post this under the Restaurants board, not the DDP board. Is there a way to move this?

yes it will. But they cant take your ressies away from you. so you may as well to be 'nice' call and ask if there is a table for 4 instead of 5, but if there isnt, unless there is a credit card guarentee involved I would leave it the way it is. happens frequently that someone decides not to attend the meal for whatever reason. Obviously though at credit card guarentee, you will mostlikely be charge for a person not showing up.

Keep it the way it is, otherwise you WILL have to rebook all your ADR's. One less happens all the time, someone is ill or late and they go ahead and seat your party anyway. Chances of being able to rebook everything are small.. just go with what you have..

It will probably get you seated faster. Most tables are made for four. So don't change the ADR's, you don't need to.

Have a great time!

I had made reservations for Aksherus for 4 of us. About 3 months later my mother decided to come with us. I called ask if they had anything available for a party of 5 and they didn't. I didn't cancel my reservation, I decided to wait until we got there and when we checked in I said that there were 5 of us. They didn't say anything and we were seated with no problem. I wouldn't cancel, I would just wait. The most they can say is no.
