Will car rental rates drop for February, 2015 trip?

I'm wondering if I can expect to see car rental rates drop closer to our trip date (February 10-18, 2015) and if yes, when? We decided to go kind of last minute (for us!) this time and booked our flights at the beginning of November. We typically reserve our car at about 6 months out and, as expected, find much better rates with that kind of lead time. Right now the best rate I can find is around $330. Not finding any codes that help too much.

I agree. This was the same for us this year too. We went the last week of January, the first 2 weeks of May, the last the weeks of October and the second week of November. As you see not busy times. Not one single time did any of my reservations ever get lower and only got higher. Plus I used coupons and later the coupons met their quotas do couldn't use them on new reservations.

OP they should. Typically the rates drop dramtically a week or two before your trip. Usually I book the Tues before my trip as that is the day they release last minutes specials. However you will be there during Presidents Day, Winter break for the New England states, & Daytona 500 occurring all at the same time so there may not be a big drop in price. Oh and the Twirl Mania competition at World Wide of Sports occurs at the time too.
