Will be late, can someone else get keys?

In January, myself, DW, and sister and her family will be at AKV. DW and I will not arrive at the resort until 8pm. Can sister, who is listed as a guest on the reservation, get keys to the room since they will most likely show up way earlier than us? Or do they have to wait until we get there and check-in ourselves? We will be putting a card down for our own expenses if that matters in this scenario.

Whoever arrives first can check in, as long as they are listed on the reservation. If you have the DDP, that person will have to pay for everyone though upon check in. They will only take one credit card on the bill, but you should be able to change that once you arrive later on to your card and take hers off, assuming they require her to show one on arrival - they may not..

Thanks. That was what I was hoping for. You don't have to put a card down for room charging, right? Do they make you leave cash for incidentals, or can you check-in without any CC or cash put down?

You can decide not to leave a credit card for charging privileges. But then you can't use the card for charging to the room. When you and the wife arrive later on, you can go to the front desk and add the credit card to your two room IDs. Then you would have charging to the room and your family members would not.
