Will Any Extras Be Available on the Wish for a First Time Disney Cruiser?

I've been seeing a lot of posts stating that extras like Palo and excursions are already sold out when they try and book them.
I'm a first time Disney cruiser and have an October cruise booked on the Wish. I can't book any extras until 8/10 and I'm worried that nothing will be available. If that's the case, I'd rather sail on the Dream for less money and hope to have more chances to do fun extras.
Any thoughts on this or have any new Disney cruisers been able to book extras without an issue on the Wish?

I would say kinda iffy. Still in prime season for people with status trying the new ship.

There will likely be nothing left for you to book. Our September sailing had some concierge guests that couldn’t even get specific tastings or palo brunch. After the platinum people booked at midnight when their window opened, pretty much everything was sold out. That’s not to say there won’t be some availability for stuff once you get onboard.

Have a B2B on the Wish next week. We are platinum. I logged in at midnight when the booking window opened for each cruise and both times all the tastings and character meet and greets were sold out.

I'm silver and got nothing for our 8/22 cruise. I keep looking every day though. lol

What meet and greets are available in advance?

Do they hold back any extra spots for when on the ship or is the only hope if someone cancels?

I am concerned to hear this. Do all of the character meet and greets require advance reservations?

They hold a handful of everything for concierge guests. If concierge doesn't sell them then they will open during the cruise.

If you are a first time cruiser... do not worry about it. The ship has plenty to offer without the extras. You do not know what you will be missing, IF you will be missing something. Especially on a short cruise.

Paying a supplement doesn't necessarily get you a better cruise experience.

We got on the Wish on August 1 and had nothing booked before that date (nothing had been available). We got a beer tasting, champagne tasting, mixology and could have had a Palo dinner but really wanted a brunch - which we didn’t end up getting. The morning we got to the port and that evening stuff opened up. We were told that things opened up from people canceling and people tasting positive and were not able to come on the cruise. We also got a hyper lounge booking for adults only and family - which you cannot do until you get to the port and connect to the app.

We are first time Disney cruisers and managed to get a booking for the Royal Gathering, a bamboo massage for two, and a Hyperspace Lounge reservation (thought that one was done on embarkation day) for our cruise starting August 5th.
