The airfare is pretty high to from Pit to MCO in October - I wonder why? Does anyone know if it usually comes down at the end of summer or shortly? We want to go to Vero Beach & I guess Orlando is our best choice. I might check West Palm!

Boy, I was surprised to see that - usually PIT to MCO is cheaper than MDT to MCO. I purchased October tickets about 4 months ago and got a great rate from Harrisburg to MCO. Right now, United is running cheaper flights from Pit to MCO and from Harrisburg to MCO than USAirways which never happens here. Who knows what the future holds. My theory is I purchase my tickets as far in advance as I can at anything under $200 roundtrip and then if the price goes down further I've been pretty lucky at getting vouchers for the difference. That way I usually get the flights I want and am not stuck with commuters for any part of my trip.

I got air from PIT to MCO for 153.00 for 10/31/02 - 11/09/02 a few weeks ago. Last year I paid 178.00 and then it went down to 138.00 in August for my November 2001 trip. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because we want vouchers and want to go in Jan.2003, too!!!!

What day of the week are you traveling on? We usually go down on Saturday morning (PIT/MCO) and you can't fool around, the seats go fast. If you're going midweek, you can probably wait for a good deal. My rule is if it goes under $200, book it. Rates have come down considerably in recent years. We paid around $270 in October 1999, that was the best we could get. Then it went down to around $240, now it's usually below $200.

USAirways is the only nonstop carrier that I know of. All the others require a connection.

We got 155.00 rt for the end of Oct. Pgh. to MCO. We originally were going to leave on a Sat. but changed it to Fri. We saved almost 100.00 total by leaving a day early.

We got tickets last week for August from PIT to MCO for 144 Roundtrip. They are though NWA, and connect in Detroit. But, for the price, the connection is worth it (especially since this was a last minute plan).

Looks like the price is 184 for october.
